Stayed in a partial RV hookup site for a couple of nights. This is was our first time staying at an RV park and it was lovely. The staff was kind and helpful. We asked to move spots due to getting poor reception from our Starlink and they were able to without a problem. The bathrooms exceeded my expectations as well, extremely clean and the water was hot. There were not many people staying so I think I may have been the only one using the bathroom the whole time. I also felt very safe walking around. Incredible value and hope to come again!
This lodge is a great location for quick access to the trails in the area. However you should treat it more as a locker room for your gear than a resort. Rooms have no fridge or microwave. If you want to watch some TV before bed bring your tablet cause rooms don't have TV's. Be sure to download the movies ahead of time as well because the WiFi is horrible. The carpet was dirty. When my girlfriend took a closer look at the carpet she found prescription pills scattered on the floor leading us to know they didn't vacuum. Our shower curtain had mold on it and the room smelled like sewage in the mornings. We told reception at checkout but she nodded and didn't say much making me think we weren't the first to say that. We went down for breakfast one morning and the ceiling was dripping water. I went to notify staff and got a "yeah it does that" response showing they are aware and don't care. Overall, if you want the ability to get up, eat quick breakfast, then get on the trails this is a great choice. If you want anything more than that just stay at a local motel instead.
Do not stay here unless you want to hear dogs barking ALL NIGHT LONG. There must be a house or farm next door with multiple, uncontrollable dogs because we heard them barking constantly throughout the night. My wife and I were supposed to spend two nights here, but one was all we could take. This campground has good reviews and I think we would’ve enjoyed our time here if the dogs weren’t such a nuisance (we also had noisy neighbors who stayed up laughing until after midnight and a road running right next to our site). Nice tent site, clean bathrooms/shower, etc. I just wish someone would’ve written a review like this one to warn us about the amount of noise. This was the worst night I’ve ever spent at a campground (and that’s saying something because there was overnight road construction going on next to the campground we stayed at before this one). We talked to the employee at the office about getting a refund for the second night, but she said the owner was on vacation and she’d have to check with her. She also said that the dogs are out of their control, which is absolutely true, but it’s important that anyone who considers staying here knows just how big of an issue this is. If the owner does actually follow up with us, I’ll update this review. Edit: The campground responded below saying that they have not had complaints about dogs barking, but the woman at the office this morning confirmed that they HAVE had others complain about this same issue. They just don’t want you to know about it. You can hear the dogs barking throughout the campground, so please, take this review as a word of warning/extreme caution.
Love this resort! Friendly staff, great location, peaceful and plenty of amenities. Canoes were amazing, beautiful little clear creek and hiking trails. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you Crater Lake Resort staff!
We were in one of the partial rv sites. We had electricity and water only. The water and electric connections were on the wrong side. The site was small (narrow and short). It was okay but nothing special. The bathrooms had 2 stalls and one shower for all the camping guests. ( they also had several tent sites) If you stay in a cabin, I think you would have a different experience. The 12 RV spots appear to be a nuisance instead of a service. The couple next to us reserved a full hookup site over a year ago, and we're told upon arrival there weren't any left. Needless to say, they were not happy about that. The park itself is convenient if you are visiting Crater Lake. It has large green areas and ample shade. My main complaint is customer service.
