One night stop on our four month RV trip. We knew a storm was approaching but were fortunately that we beat it to the Park. There is major road construction, so your left turn onto the Park access road is dangerous. Approaching traffic is coming from a blind curve and traffic behind you either stops behind you or tries to pass you on the passenger side on a narrow lane. Once done with the turn there is ample parking while you check in, which was a breeze, however, the normal cheerfulness you expect from KOA was lacking. We were given a map with a circle on our site. No guide (no biggie) no instructions to where the bathroom/shower/garbage drop/dog walk were. We had a pull through and it was TIGHT with our neighbors. What was strange was the sewer connections were at the very back of the site, meaning even with an 18' rig, our tail was just on the edge of our site and the road. Power/water were mid way into the site. We found the dog walk and it was nice, grassy, but as a result of the storms, muddy. The dumpster was at the front/exit of the Park next to the dump site if you needed it. Did use the bathrooms the morning we left and they were clean. There are lots of trees, so when the storm hit the air was full of flying branches. We took a few hits but escaped major damage, but the rig behind us had two large limbs impaled into the top of their rig. Roads are narrow and there is no clear exit path, so everyone sort of just figured it out. A few restaurants down the road.
Campers beware!! Do NOT expect a refund from this place! The customer experience is absolutely horrible. I have called SEVERAL times to ask for a cancellation on my reservation and no answer nor call back. ALSO, texted the number provided for help and no text back. There is a 48 hour mark to receive a refund and I’m trying to contact them 2 weeks before this trip. This place is a scam and likes to keep your money. Do NOT waste your time or your money! Take this review as a warning. I am losing out on a chunk of money that could have been refunded to me but instead they are making sure not to get back with me so they can keep free money in their pockets. This poor customer service has been going on for three days. So, like I said please be aware I am trying to give you a heads up!
Crawfordsville IN KOA was a complete mess. The RV sites were poorly maintained, ours had a beer can in the fire ring when we arrived. The camper in front of us had used beer cans (20) littered in his RV site on the ground, just thrown there. Most campers there seemed like full time residents. The sites were not maintained well, with old leaves scattered all over. Very poor quality for a KOA brand site. I would encourage KOA to revoke it's franchise for Crawfordsville. Ghastly place!
Beautiful, wooded sites, plenty of shade. Bathrooms super clean. Campsites have plenty of room. Pet friendly, with a clean dog park/run with supplied poop bags. Nice swimming pool. Top notch customer service with extremely friendly proprietors.
What a beautiful park full of trees, kind staff members and a wonderful pool, clean restrooms with showers and a laundry in the office. The people staying there were all friendly, it has wood for campfires and a pump station for the sewer and a nice little store. Bonus foe Memorial Day weekend - a petting zoo for the kids! Awesome. Even my cat Luna, loved it!
