Caution - Parking here is a nightmare. Use the metro if you can to get here or get a bike or scooter. The pedestrian lanes and the bike lanes are well paved. Given that, the beach is pretty clean, had great crowds, and the sunset beside the pier is beautiful to watch. The restrooms and other beach facilities seemed pretty well maintained. The park also has a playground for kids & adults with swings, mini gymnastics equipment. The park is also very runner/walker and dog friendly.
Great location for events and state events. Nappa organised their Fashion event and it was amazing. Restrooms are close by to the park. Need to just cross the beach walk lane.
I frequently visit this park in Santa Monica. It has plenty of parking space. Immediately next to the board walk. It has access to the beach, a short walk but it's worth it. There is plenty of beach space even when it's crowded. As all sunsets, it depends on the day and weather, but sunsets are always a reward at this park.
First time going, and I had such a fun time!
The attached pics would say more than the review Tips - - Start from Venice beach, and walk towards Santa Monica pier between 630 to 730 local time - enjoy pier view and wine during sunset - walk from pier, away from Venice beach during morning for an awesome morning walk or run
