Wonderful little Campground to stay. Lory and Dennis are perfect Hosts, doing everything to make you feel happy and comfortable during your stay. 14days as always on BLM. Actually (Nov. 2024) $5 per night. Wild Donkeys and direct Access to the River with little private beach makes it perfect. We've been here for the second time. We come again for sure. Thanks a lot for some beautiful days in the November sun. 😎👍
We are the Hosts of Crossroads, Dennis and Laurie. We were blessed to have a great Thanksgiving with campers who had no plans. Great food, new friends, great conversation and memories made definitely. Thank you all for coming. We love our little campground and welcome everyone. We love talking to everyone about their adventures and making new friends. We have many repeat campers who also enjoy our company and hospitality. We keep the area clean and known to have the cleanest pit toilet around lol. Please check us out, we would love to have you camp or come by to say hi. Can't wait for Christmas, gonna try some decorations! Happy Holidays everyone!
Unless you just love to listen to obnoxiously loud/un-muffled jet boat engines this place really sucks! Definitely not a quiet or peaceful spot on the river. The donkeys, roadrunners and critters are wonderful (to include lots of bats in the evenings...). The camp hosts are self appointed "dream-police". They rush around in their golf cart and watch the entire camp waiting for any rule infractions to include their personal interpretation of camping guidelines. Poor people skills to put it gently. Won't be using this previously favored spot again... ;0(
Very happy to get into this campground. Dennis and Laurie are excellent hosts from the first greeting. They explained that the sites at the front were designated by the hosts (clearly stated on the written policy posted on the information board) and kept us up to date on what position we were in to get an open spot. Toilet was kept stocked with paper. And they let us know if any sites would be open for our friends coming in. Good job! Cute little park. Love the Colorado River.
The sites are sufficient size and the laundry, water machine, and showers next door are available to guests here. Only 11 minutes to Parker for shopping. But we will not come back. We got a knock at 9am from the hosts asking if we were leaving today. Seriously!?! We checked in last week and today is our departure date - so yes we're leaving today, but check out is not until noon. This is something we saw happening here all week. Why disturb folks when you can read your permits? You don't need to ask unless they are here past check out. They drive by checking permits every morning so they should already know when you're leaving. Site hopping : there's a rule here that if you want a riverfront site you must take a regular site first and get on a wait-list for riverfront. That's fine, but there's also this culture where folks are scoping out the occupied riverfront sites. This week we watched people check out other people's sites (including their belongings) when they were gone. Not cool. We endured all too frequent site switching that included folks parked next to and waiting for other folks to pack up and leave. Then last night there was harassment of the burros only 3 sites from the hosts and within ear shot of everyone. There's a dumpster here and a toilet which is good. The single pit toilet was kept full of TP and never ran out and the seat was usually clean. However it was only completely cleaned once during our stay. The smear on the side of the toilet was evidence of this. If you're good with all this then by all means come and enjoy. As for us, we won't be back.
Camp host are super nice. Is clean and kept up. Price right up my alley. Beautiful and right on the Colorado river. There is a vault toilet onsite but no electricity or hookups great for boon docking. Wild burrows will visit your camp but they don’t really bother if no food is left out.
On the river at Parker strip, California side, downstream from Lake Havasu. Dennis and his wife are fantastic hosts. I had a site with access to the water for my kayak (thanks Dennis for pointing it out). Vault toilet, no other amenities. No day use area. The river gets boat busy on weekends. Way too cheap at $5 a day, half that with the America the Beautiful card. Not reserveable, first come first serve. 14 day limit. Often full, I got lucky.
