Customer Reviews
My wife and I chose crosswinds family camp ground for a week-long.Stay the location was decent. It's kind of close to the interstate so you're constantly hearing the cars and trucks roaring down the highway. It is a very clean camp group They keep it up very well The camping spots are large, It easy to back into or pull through the management. Keeps the ground clean and there are very nice people. They do have a pool and laundry room. So that was nice. They do fill propane tanks as well In the price for the Propane is better than some other establishments around the area. I would definitely. Recommend cross winds family campground If you're looking for a One night or extended stay for you and your family. We are definitely gonna be staying with them again.
This place was super quiet. We had lots of room to ourselves and the hook ups were some of the best we've seen. The playground was big enough for our 13 year old to play on. The fishing pond had great access and the ducks were sooo cute. Checking in was great and the lady at the desk even recommended a great place to eat.
This was a fun campground for us and the kids. Lots of sites with full-hookup. Playground is a little rough, but the kids loved it! Great family friendly atmosphere and the people were so nice. They are adding lots of new camping sites with a view soon too!
We arrived late and set up our rv only to find we didn't have power. We tried everything we knew but nothing worked. We are new to rv camping, so we assumed we were doing something wrong. We called around for a mobile rv repairman but no one could help that night. In the morning we called the campground office to tell them we would be checking out early to go home. The manager said he would come see if they could help. A lady (Glenda I think) came down and checked everything she knew to check and then offered a suggestion of a company named Good Vibrations. They answered, came within an hour and made a repair on our wiring. We had power and had a wonderful weekend with two of our grandchildren. This is a lovely, quiet, clean, family friendly, reasonably priced, campground but most importantly it has really nice management people that cared enough to help. Because we were able to stay, I got to sit with my 3 year old granddaughter and we painted our fingernails mystic lavender with sparkles. That was priceless!
Nice place. I have a 38ft 5th and had a pull through. I had site C07. It wasn't level but I managed. It was nice and quiet. The only issue is the pool was a bit small for the size of the campground. It was full of kids really quickly. The bathhouse was very clean and smelled fresh. I noticed that they are expanding and it looks like it will be about double the size. If this is the case another much larger pool will be needed.
Stayed a few weeks ago in May for 3 nights. Very clean campground. Bathhouse houses are clean. Office staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the grounds worker, helped me with my water hookup, as I had lost a hose washer and was leaking. We were in Section C. Gravel sites. Ours was mostly level. Very quiet and relaxing.
Had a great overnight stay here as I was traveling through onto our next destination. Have to say this place is awesome and the staff are friendly. It’s also a very tidy RV park. Definitely recommend staying here whether it’s for a day or more.
We stayed at this campground for one night. They have the best service I have ever had at a campground! We arrived when an attendant was not available, but as soon as they were they came to us and made sure we had our vehicle pass and wifi password. Unfortunately the next morning we ran over one of the camp trashcans as we were hooking up to leave the next morning. It was early and no one was there. We called the after hours number and were able to sort everything out. Ps: it’s a $20 cash charge for the trashcan, in case anyone is as unlucky as we can be from time to time. They were so kind and the grounds were very clean and well kept! Tons of families and they have a pool on site for the hot months.
We stayed for a week in April and enjoyed being there. The folks that own/run the place are very nice! If you need propane while there, it’s actually just as reasonable as the place we usually refill which is over 30 min away. That was a pleasant surprise and we expressed how thankful we were for the fair prices and convenience. We stayed in site D-20 which had just one site between us and some dear friends of ours who were set up on the 3-camper buddy sites to celebrate a 40th birthday. There were a few celebrations going on that night, but everybody was keeping to themselves and being respectful while celebrating. The neighbor between us and our friends sites noticed we had the kiddos by the fire in their wheelchairs having a good time and he brought us some color changing “magic fire dust” (the kids liked that name) that he found while cleaning that day. That was a nice gesture and both of the boys loved watching the fire change colors! Evenings were quiet, things were peaceful. There are some permanent/longer term folks in there but they are pretty neatly kept up sites. Pool was obviously closed for the off season. Can’t speak on bathhouses or any facilities as we are 100% self contained to fully function in our RV. There did appear to be an open space building near the pool and bathhouses that I noticed had some elders in there one evening when we came in just as it was getting darker & I could see inside. Looked like a little community event or gathering for them. The farm house (office) is neat and very well kept. We are in our 40s/50s and I would say most of what we observed were primarily folks age 50-65 but there were some older/some younger there and maybe a handful of kids around ages 5-14 we saw around there the week we stayed. We were only in town to take in the scenery every other day (late nights, actually) as we are a trucking couple & run multiple trips per week. We will be back, as we didn’t get to enjoy nearly as much of the place as we wanted to but we are thankful to have found a place we would return to! We’ve visited several other campgrounds within 45 minutes of Cross Winds and they’re nowhere near as nice as this one. Our Momentum Toy Hauler is 44ft and this space accommodates our truck & RV with room to let down the back deck for use- if you get it situated just right with your hookups and all too. LEVEL SPOT, plenty wide for slides and awnings. Picnic table, fire ring & trash can on site. We drove through and made a list of sites we could utilize in the future, and I will say that the vast majority of the sites are level and pretty accommodating for medium-larger units. Roads throughout the property are smooth enough I could even drive my Charger one night I needed to, and no issues getting in our site either. Can’t wait to come back and actually be able to get the motorcycle out and ride around the area one day we’re in town and staying there again. Sorry for the novel, but I like honest and informative reviews myself so I had to share, especially since it’s hard to find a decent campground these days. #fulltimeRVcouple #happy campers
