Beautiful state park! Staff was very friendly! Awesome trails. We did the turn back trail that led to the fern trail that led to the lake loop around trail. I only had two hours to sundown so we did those lower elevation trails. Was excellent, my dog had a blast n I did some birding . You need at least 3 hours to do the higher elevation trails like pinnacle and you have to climb up over 300 steps so be prepared. Hiking shoes are recommended, bring a bag with plenty of water for u and your pooch, binoculars , first aid kit , and any necessities for your dog. Always be prepared when going on a long hike . Dress warm in winter because trust me it’s cold. N always respect nature.
Walked around the lake. There are some trip hazards on both paths. Gravel walkways and 2 trails. One is along the waters edge where people were fishing and one a few yards higher on ridge. Beautiful area. Pet friendly.
Great hike for a family. We did the 2 mile Pinnacle trail. Probably more beautiful in the warmer months but still a beautiful spot. The end is a bit tricky but doable. The visitor center was cute and had a great scavenger hunt print out for our 5 yr old.
I started at the Crowders mountain visitor center and took a hike up the mountain via the red marked "Rocktop Trail". It took just under 1hr to get to the top, was pretty strenuous but well worth the views a third of the way up and especially all the way at the top. As it was a sunny day, the views were incredible! After reaching the top, I took the steps (Backside trail) and white "Crowders trail" down and arrived back at the visitor centre after approximately 45 minutes. The total route up and down was 10k or 6 miles. The ladies at the visitor center were very friendly and helpful and provided a map with all the different hiking routes in the Crowders mountain State Park. Thank you! Would definitely recommend taking the hike up on a nice day. In case the red route is too strenuous, the white route can be taken to the top and back as well. It will be a lot easier way to get to the top and back. Plentiful parking is available at the visitor center with additional overflow parking near the lake.
Good for a hike, lot of the vegetation has burned down from the fire in december 24, but still worth to visit. Nice view.
