Went here for eclipse. Closest Internet is Mount Ida and Norman. Tons of local stuff to see, natural quartz everywhere you look. Bathrooms are well maintained (the graffiti is minimal, and what is there is kid-friendly and funny). View is beautiful and there's plenty of nature to explore. Hiking trails in the mountains and you can walk up and down the creek for miles. Absolutely gorgeous. The people who are there are phenomenal.

This is a small free campground that has about 10 spots. The only amenities this campground has is one vault toilet, which hasn't been taken care of. So make sure you bring your own toiletries and stuff for your trash(ALWAYS pack it in, pack it out ALWAYS). As long as you know what to expect in that matter than the rest is great. We stayed a full week and had a great time. Twin creek mine is down the road a ways along with another natural spring. Also the town of Norman is a few miles down the opposite direction and has a dollar general and gas station, so supplies are close! It's a nice campground that's fairly quiet. We saw maybe 3-4 people on a Saturday, if that's any indication. The last thing I will add is that if you are a forest goblin like me than you will want to bring something to carry home all your cool rocks and shiny crystals you will find 😉

Awesome little location! Very quiet, next to a creek, there's bathrooms near the entrance. Picturesque, especially when we went in April. You don't need all wheel drive, my two wheel drive camper van did great!

It is a wonderful place to camp or just explore. There are trails off the campsite. Setting up a camp next to the flowing stream is absolutely peaceful. There is no phone signal so it's a wonderful place to unplug and unwind.

Beautiful natural area. Restrooms and camping. Nice stream. Great place to see biodiversity. Umbrella Magnolia, Cucumber Magnolia, Pawpaw, Sassafrass. Lots of ferns, including royal ferns.

Decent free camping. Vault toilet was in pretty poor shape, bring your own TP. The forest service conducted a prescribed burn while we were there all around the campground, smoked us out and we left. I realize this is a necessity for the forest to thrive, but jeez.
