We hiked from Odessa Lake to Cub Creek, the hike was not bad at all. Just a brief portion was uphill (500ft of elevation or so). As a campsite. We barely squeezed two one person tents in, since there were a ton of sharp rocks. There isn’t a reliable source of water nearby (wouldn’t recommend drinking from cub lake, even with filtering). The closest other source is about a mile away on the cub lake trail. Overall, not an awful night of camping, but there are better sites in the Rockies like Odessa lake!

Amazing views and only a couple miles from a trailhead. Lower elevation so easy on the lungs and snow melt out is early in the season. Minus 2 stars for a swarm of mosquitoes and a very uneven, angled tent platform.

Great campsite with great views. The surrounding area was effected by a recent fire and the trail was closed to day hikers but it was still a beautiful area.

While we didn't camp there, we walked past it on the way to the Cub Lake and stopped in for a quick peak. It's in a beautiful forest and on a VERY popular and busy trail, but it's offset a bit into the woods from the trail so should have at least a little bit of privacy (I would imagine the noise of the hikers would still be a bit too much for me though). There are also hitching posts for horses. And the main attractions are probably that the Cub Lake is a short walk away (and is beautiful!) and that the hike in is really easy - it's mostly flat with the not-crazily-uphill part only at the tail end of the hike

Great view from the campsite. Worth a nights stay from the Cub Creek trailhead.
