Just had our big family vacation here and it was amazing! Denise was flexible (even when I messed up a date) and easy to reach. The camp host for the weekend (Shar, I think) was very kind and helpful. The trees provided plenty of shade and we had so much fun just 25 minutes away floating the Bear River with the Family Fun Floating company providing rentals and a shuttle for a great price. One of our favorite places we’ve had our reunion at❤️
this is our 2nd visit to cub river rv park. the hosts are exceptional and "neighbor" campers friendly and helpful. we had a slight problem (almost a big one) setting up our trailer, but our host, Denise, came to the rescue and really saved our trip. we live in UT and plan to come every year.
Overall, it was a great stay. We happened to hit a hot weather week, but even so, we weren't miserable. From reading reviews, we expected the cleaning to be a pain. If you want a cleaning-free vacation, this isn't the place for you. Our group was really good about cleaning up after themselves, though, so the checkout went smoothly. We used as little of their things as possible....took our own grills, paper plates, sheets, pillows, etc. to lesson the cleaning work . The wifi was better some days than others. I was able to teach my online classes decent enough, though. Things we didnt expect: random people walking in the front door daily...most asking if that was the office or the restaurant; the office phone rings in the house, and random people hanging around on the front porch using the wifi. Nothing was bothersome necessarily, just things we haven't experienced before. So if you are a big group and can clean up after yourself, this is a great choice....just dont walk around nekky upstairs if you have problems showing off your stuff to strangers!
Beautiful area, but horrible camp ground. Me and my family left super early because it wasn’t what it used to be. We couldn’t check out the creek or pool and apparently it’s privately owned now and the guy was VERY rude about it when we went to toward the creek. The staff was hardly available and there wasn’t absolutely nothing we could do in 90 degree weather since we couldn’t go to the pool, the restrooms weren’t accessible except a super disgusting port a potty.. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.
The food is quite good and the staff that served us was kind and forthcoming with napkins, and water refills. The Oni n rings were breaded rather odd...not necessarily bad but certainly different from normal onion ring expectations. The scones were deliciously chewy and only lightly browned so it was almost doughy but right on the edge of doneness that I appreciate the balanced effort in. The scenery outside is breathtaking and the stream nearby offers pleasant white noise. The only gripe was the seating in direct sunlight. We were assured it would only be ten minutes before the sun would disappear. We used the sun to shade finger technique (look towards the sun and put the base of your hand against the item that will offer you shade such as a roof. Each finger between the shade source and the sun is 15-ish minutes) and it was more like half an hour until we were no longer sweaty and had become reasonably comfortable. If you go past 5 and you are seated near the rock wall along the river be sure to insist on a shade source or be prepared to bake in the sun (it was the 4th of July weekend when we went). Everything else was a rustic reprieve with well groomed cooking techniques that I appreciate and value. Thanks for reading.
