Beautiful park and campground with ample camping sites. Water was available and close to our site, everything was clean and firewood was available for sale. Everyone including the staff were very friendly and helpful, staff frequently drove around cleaning and checking sites. I dropped a star for the bathrooms/showers though. They say on the doors they close for two hours a day for cleaning but the floors are nasty, there was dog hair all over the shower walls and floor, and several times the toilets were out of paper and paper and other items were all over the floors. The water in the showers was VERY hot though! 🥵
We have stayed here several times, we actually live close by as well, love the park and the other section of basic and just electric campsites. This review is for the full hookup campsites. It is extremely loud, also next to a rd that has the occasional missing muffler car or obnoxiously diesel truck revving, half the people are obnoxiously loud and drunk, I literally could not sit by my fire and chat with my husband. I will never come back to this side again, I'll just stick with the wooded sites.
Pleasant campsite built in the woods. Campsite has its own lake for swimming and boating fun. Amenities are basic but clean: shower block needs a lick of paint, but you can shower with endless free hot water - no coins or time-limit. Plenty of cicadas, raccoons, and ticks.
Great place! The campground host is a very cool guy. The campground itself is very well maintained, plenty of space and shade for tent camping. There is a noise curfew which is nice, nothing worse than trying to have a peaceful night outdoors with someone blasting kid rock a the 100ft away. I've checked out several campgrounds in the area and this is the best. Plenty of trails nearby, a beach, and the archery range is awesome.
We camped in spot #16. The campground was well maintained and we felt safe. The camp host was very friendly. It was pretty full and noisy during the day but everyone respected quiet time. We did not use the restrooms. The drive in had some steep hills but it was beautiful. We would stay again.
