My wife and I spent one night here on August 13, 2024 in our 20' long travel trailer. I really would love to have given this campground a better rating, but the RV campsites are VERY SMALL (even for my little camper) and you have to share power and water hookup outlet boxes between adjoining sites. The first site that I was assigned when checking was unacceptable because the distance to the power and water hookup was too far away for my cord and hose to reach, and I also did not have enough straightaway to safely back in my camper because there was a big playground in front of it just across the one lane loop road that runs around the small campground. Other than the tiny size of the campsites, everything else about the place was 5 stars. The showers and laundry room were spotlessly clean, they were ice-cold air conditioned, and the water pressure and temperature was a good as a 5-star hotel room's. The surrounding area was also very rugged and beautifully forested. The state park also has a horseback riding corral just up the road about a quarter mile away from the camp store and they have two or three nice riding trails to select from. You check in at the camp store at the entrance to the RV campground, which was also spotlessly clean and attended by a very nice young lady. The State Park's lodge and waterfall is only about a mile drive away from the campground and has some wonderful overlooks and hiking trails. They do have a restaurant at the lodge, but it's only open to those staying at the lodge itself. The only other gripe about this place that I had is that it's about 15-17 miles from the nearest restaurant located in the town of Corbin just off of I-75. If you are "Glamper" like us, who don't cook your own meals while on the road camping, you may go hungry staying here unless you leave pretty early for dinner (like 2 hours before sunset). Additionally, the last 7 miles of the roadway going into and out of this state park is very hilly and winding, with numerous blind curves. I would certainly not want to drive it at night while towing a travel trailer, particularly since it's in deer and bear country. Bottom line, if you are towing an RV that is more than 25' long or driving a Class B motor home that is more than 30' long, you probably won't fit in here, and if you do, you'd better be an expert driver and backer-upper because the sites are so SMALL and not at all deep, and the loop roadway around the campground is a single lane and very narrow. It's DEFINITELY NOT a place where you can fit a Class A motor home. That's really too bad, because the countryside all around this park for a 15 mile radius is mostly unpopulated and super beautiful.

We stopped here for a couple of nights on a trip to Georgia. The RV sites are small - be sure that you check the size of the site so that your trailer will fit! (I was able to secure one of the largest sites at 26', very close to the bathhouse.) Our trailer fit fine, but in terms of site space, we had very little - not enough room to set up our clamshell around the picnic table. The bathhouse facility was clean, if small. Only 2 shower units means you need to be quick to get in! If you're here, you're going to see Cumberland Falls. If not, what are you doing? But don't forget to visit some of the others, too: Eagle Falls, Dog Slaughter Falls. The hikes have a good deal of elevation change, so be prepared. If it has rained, be ready to have some muddy shoes. But it'll be worth it. As a humorous aside, we here hiking to Eagle Falls when a thunderstorm cell came in. When we got back to the RV, we discovered the power was out to the whole campground! On a hot and already humid day, we knew we didn't want to sit in the camper with 5 folks and no AC, so we sat under the awning and enjoyed the rain and each other's company. Sometimes things go this way - find ways to make the most of it!

Beautiful campground, helpful and friendly staff, clean facilities, near many trails, rivers, and falls. An absolutely great experience. The only draw back is you have bring firewood from town. They sold us unseasoned wood. Highly recommend!

Good cell service and nice bathrooms. However, the campsites are extremely short and close together. I would not recommend this for ANY travel trailers.

We will never be back to this place. I have never seen a campground where the spaces are straight in and not at an angle to allow you to back in easier. Posts and trees right in the way. Good luck getting in. It may be dog friendly but the dog owners are idiot dog owners. Some people left their dogs in their camper while they were gone for 4 hours. The dogs barked the entire time. It's 9 at night right now and the idiots across from us are letting their dog bark continuously. I read the reviews about the well stocked and clean bathrooms, but this place must be under new management because the bathrooms are neither. I'm glad we brought toilet paper and soap. I'm really surprised that the electrical worked. Never again. We will leave a day early just to get out of this misery.
