Customer Reviews
For $5 a person you get access to a huge beautiful beach with lots of shade and places to sit. The water is clear enough and the sand is soft. We visited the beach and the zoo but there was also a playground, discovery center, and many trails we weren't able to check out yet. The zoo isn't anything grand but my 2 year old sire loved it and for $5 it was well worth it. Kids under 5 are free so that's great too. We had a great time and will definitely be going back alot this summer.
The price to stay in a primitive tenting site with electric, water, and clean bathrooms with showers was only $29.86 for one night with tax. We were the only tenters and felt safe. Cypress Park has a gated entry. The area has a fishing pier, hiking trails, a zoo, and a designated swimming area. I would definitely stay here again!
One of the best not-so-hidden gems in NWLA. Cypress Black Bayou Recreation Area has all the things locals like to complain about not having. They have both primitive and RV camping, they have wide open fields, beautiful forest areas, nature trails, and even a sandy beach. There's a tiny zoo with peacocks wandering around and an enclosed area with (what I hope) are rescue & release deer. Plenty of shade areas, boat launches, cook tops, picnic tables, and nets for games like volleyball. There is a small entrance fee based on the number of people you have with you. If you get a day pass I believe it's $5 per person, or you can get an annual pass for I believe $25. It's a wonderful local gem.
Rv camping with great lake views. Fishing piers, hiking trails, wildlife, and more.
This is a very nice campground! We had a pull-thru site on the lake. The only issue is that the utilities are on the wrong side...not sure why the pull-thru sites are set up that way because the back-in sites are set up the right way. We were able to make it work. The lake views are beautiful and there is a LOT of room between sites. Each site has it's own trash can (which is awesome). We'll definetly be back!
