First time staying here, had a great time. Perfect time of the year to visit, campgrounds weren’t too crowded during the week (spots did fill up for the weekend) plenty of walking and hiking trails with tons of wildlife. The brand new bathroom facilities are top notch and extremely clean, well maintained. There is some construction going on near the entrance but a nonissue. Other than a few inconsiderate guests with loud barking dogs there was only one issue and that is the “high water siren” that goes off at multiple unannounced times during the day and night but there is no danger to campers.
Cypress Campground at Beaver Bend National Park CP042 was the perfect campsite. Electric, 30Amp RV connect and standard 120 outlet to charge any accessories. Ex.Cell and Heater. No 30/15amp converter needed. Huge space for several cars. Fire ring, grill, lantern holder and picnic table. The bathroom is directly behind the site 20 yards. CLEAN toilet, CLEAN HOT shower. Privacy in both. Excellent. River is located another 20 yards away. Plenty of things to do in the park, fishing, kayaking, atv rental and more. Drinking and having fun is encouraged. Lol Definitely going to be my go to from now on. Grab firewood for $5 a bundle on the honor system in Hochatown. Just look for a hug wood store outside and read all the crazy signs next to the Hochatown Saloon.
It was a wonderful experience. We are first timers and the location was perfect. We opted in for sewage hookup. There was a pleasent mixer of people, nature, ambience. And children. They had a fire pit, paved ground, and grill. We look forward to our next adventure here.
We camped at the Cypress campground in October 2023. There is only a woods view in Cypress. This is a nice place to relax. However we had a neighbor whose dogs would continuously bark every time they left their campsite. There's a high water horn that goes off at any moment. We were concerned the first few times it sounded but we eventually got used to it. As a disabled person, it would be nice if the park had more side walks. Next time we come here, we hope to camp in Acorn, which has a water view. We visited the Nature center and ate at the restaurant, both were nice.
Really enjoyed camping here. The trails are not too far away, the bathrooms and showers are nearby depending on your campsite.
