While I will say I was definitely expecting a little more than just some wooded area with walking trails I can also say I wasn’t super disappointed. I hate that some of the prettiest places are bordered by tons of shops and commercial businesses. It was beautiful but I just personally felt the businesses just ruined the experience. It didn’t really feel like nature. It felt like an experience that was sold. Nice place to walk but it’s more like a regular park than a nature reserve.
Very small creek area, few stone table around, good for a little picnic or rest after a day shopping in the area.
My partner and I visited the Cypress Creek Nature Trail & Preserve in November, and it was the perfect time to go! The weather was great, and the greenery and clear waters were absolutely beautiful. It felt so peaceful walking through the trails, surrounded by nature at its best. The hikes are short and super easy, which made it perfect for a relaxing stroll without feeling rushed or tired. Everything was really well-maintained, and you can tell a lot of care goes into keeping the place clean and inviting. We loved how close it is to Wimberley Square—it’s easy to grab a bite or check out the shops before or after your visit. This spot is such a little gem, whether you’re looking for some quiet time outdoors or just want a beautiful stroll. If you’re in the area, definitely take some time to check it out. It’s a great way to enjoy nature without committing to a long hike, and it’s perfect for a laid-back day out!
Pretty, quiet, quaint and short. A wonderful little part of hidden Wimberley
beautiful space with lots of large cypress trees and creek. there are some impressive sculptures carved into some of the trees. i visited during a cold rainy day and it was empty and so serene. there is an attached walking trail and the area sits behind the Wimberley Square with lots of shops, coffee places, and restaurants.
Beautiful trails, great place to take the dogs on a long walk. Conveniently located to parking and restrooms.
Great break from shopping! Very relaxing hike with beautiful scenery. Swimming permitted but no lifeguard on duty. Very large bald cypress trees with so much character! Smooth trail overall, but be cautious of exposed roots that could cause you to trip.
