D Bar D Ranch is a private campground with relatively level sites with water and electric hook-ups. Campsites have 2-3 stalls which are being transitioned to covered stalls. Picnic tables and fire rings accompany the sites. Some sites are configured to accommodate groups (each on a different site). There is a bathhouse with showers and flush toilets and sinks. Both indoor and outdoor riding arenas are available for use. Firewood, shavings, ice, & propane are available for purchase. Trails are sandy. The eastern trails are flat and run through hay fields. Western trails are more hilly and wooded. The trails on the map can be easily ridden in one day. The owners have recently purchased more acreage and will be expanding the trail system. More trails wind through the adjacent land on the Huron Manistee National Forest. Someone flagged several trails west of the power line (State Rd). We did not find a lot of access points into either the forest or D Bar D from the power lines. We did not check out the trails north of US-10.
Love this place! Wonderful for equestrian camping. The sites are great and I love that they have corrals. Bathrooms and showers are a great bonus. So many beautiful trails
Looking for a quiet, relaxing get away with your horse and horsey friends? This is it! Friendly and helpful staff, electric hook up and your horse has its very own paddock. Some of them now have a roof over them as well. There are trails to ride for days between the Ranch and the Manistee not being far either.
Love this place so much I can not express. Great people. Gorgeous arena with great footing. Lovely well marked trails. And always accommodating. Nowhere like it.
This is a fantastic place to camp with your horses. There are miles of trails & you can spend all of your time trail riding on the property with lots of forest, hills, or two tracks. It also joins up with federal or state land so you definitely will never run out of trails to ride on. This horse camp is the best in Michigan. The camping also has electric & water hook-up or primitive camping with picket line or corals. There is also roofed lean to stalls on a lot of electrical & water hook-up sites. Hope I explained this great horse camp well enough. I could share a few more things but I think I probably have given you a good Idea of the camp. They have a web site if you want to learn more
First time here and it won’t be my last! Beautiful trails, fantastic camp sites and friendly staff. There’s so much to love about this place! It was exactly what my soul needed -a reconnection with nature, friends and my horse.
