Small nice campground, right off a main road and plenty to do around it. We went to Macon museum of arts and sciences free with pass from our library, hit whistle stop Cafe and enjoyed the dam. We were site 12 which was a nice easy pull thru that faced water. It was windy and cold our last night but still enjoyable.

Nice quiet campground and the sites are fairly spread out. We were on Site 8 next to the lake that was a little short and there's a tree that keeps you from extending your awning more than 4 feet. It was really windy so the awning wasn't an issue.

36 sites, some on the lakefront, most have some shade. 3-4 pull through, the remaining back-ins. There are two handicap sites located near the two bathroom/shower facilities. There is a nice children's playground. The office has a limited selection of camping and grocery items, and the nearest shopping facility is 8-9 miles on 23. The park has kayak rentals. Very pretty park. Has a visitors' day park and boat ramp. Motorized boats with greater than 10hp motors are not permitted. All sites have a fire ring and a separate food grill. Fire wood available to purchase $ 7.50 a bundle. If you have a Georgia patk membership, you'll receive a 10% discount.

Very nice park, lake is beautiful and great for kayaking. Most sites are really roomy. Power plant is an awesome sight and sunsets are always nice. Road noise is the only negative at the end of the park.

Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of Dames Ferry Campground. Road to: Easy, Drive through Macon just a little busy. Road inside: Paved and in good condition. Trees: All well trimmed. Check in: Small office at entrance. She was friendly. Parking: None, you stop at entrance. Seasonal campers: None. Signage: good Site 10: Gravel pad, but very unlevel. Had table and fire pit. View: Fantastic Site spacing: Very Good Bathhouse: Nice. Laundry room: Nice. Swimming pool: None, they have a lake. Club house: None. Fitness area: None. Grounds: Good. TV: Over air antenna was good. Wifi: None. So here is the bad: Our site was very unlevel, but the view was worth it. I would come back. Dream Big, Travel Far, Live Well...

Wonderful and great site, only issue was site did not match online RSVP. Required us to relocate since original reservation has been filled with concrete and did not permit tent setup
