What a great campground. We stayed for a week with our 2 year old daughter and were assigned a tent site that was absolutely perfect, lots of shadow, lots of space, beautiful forest, very quiet. The campground is located on a nice spot on the river (which is beautiful) with a little beach to swim, that we had to ourselves a couple of times. We had some rain this week, and were happy with the indoor space with a play room (toys, books) and some fun craft activities with the staff. Staff is amazing! So helpful, super friendly, checking in with us all the time. The only (minor) thing for improvement is there aren't any facilities to do dishes, apart from the general (cold water) faucets in between camp sites. It worked out fine for the week. Bathrooms were nice, and spotless. Good swimming and hiking opportunities in the area too.
This place is amazing! They got us in very last minute after a bad experience at another campground, and we are so grateful. We wanted a vacation for my birthday weekend and were not disappointed! So quiet, peaceful, and beautiful here! Will definitely be coming back here! The staff is absolutely amazing, so kind and helpful!
Camp here every summer. The staff is awesome. Bathroom facilities clean and awesome hot water. Always something going on for fun. Reservation requests answered in timely manner. Very easy to communicate with staff. Thanks again for another fun filled week Highly recommend for families of all ages
Last month I spent two nights at the Davidson's Countryside Campground. It was a wonderful experience. I appreciated the professionalism of Allison, Amy and Hayden who greeted me, answered all my questions and showed me to my campsite. The site was well maintained and spacious. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner John and his son the beekeeper. I bought a few jars of his delicious honey. I plan to return to Davidson's again.
Update: the point about the noise being spoken to was that it wasn’t us 2 of those three times. It was the people that were causing my family to be afraid to come out of their tents. How would you like them to be able to know at 2 and 4 AM the number to call you about it. That is why they TEXTED 911. Because they were afraid to be heard talking g about it in defeat go what would happen to them. You were so quick to speak to us when it wasn’t even a fraction of the noise and not to speak of the added destruction and abuse that was happening on that site above my daughter! We stayed in one of the dry cabins and it was a nice, level site set up on a hill. . It was a family gathering and we had four sites between us all. There were 8 adults and 7 children ranging in age from 8-16. The first night we all were there we gathered at one of my daughters sites bc it had the best fire pit set up. So the 15 of us were gathered and were laughing and having a great time and at 9:30PM a “security” golf cart pulled up and said we needed to quiet down. Again a minute before 10(the designated quiet time in the rules) they came and this was in my opinion, a warranted visit because we did have a brief moment of being loud. They came again shortly after that and said they could hear us from the field. We had not been loud at all. It was actually a site above my daughter’s aite. There were only four of them and their music was super loud, they were rude and wild. We didn’t say anything bc we wanted to just do our best and have fun. That night at 2AM those same people by my daughters site became so loud it woke all three sites up and my daughters were very scared bc of their actions (not gonna go into detail but it was really bad). This next part is why location got a bad rating…they ended up calling 911. It’s the only service available in Bristol on the weekends. They said they were going to send someone. No one showed up. They called again around 4 bc it was still going on and no help again. It continued and became violent to the point where one guy took the girl and threw her over his shoulder down the hill. My daughter witnessed this and spoke to them about it not being ok and they were too messed up to be able to be spoken to. Good news is….finally…when the office opened at 10, my family spoke to the staff about the situation and they did and up getting kicked out. I found at least 3 staff members to be rude and did not make us feel valued or even heard as their customers concerning the severity of the situation. And the last day our car wouldn’t start and we had to wait for a tow truck. Staff knew this and I am handicapped and it was a hot day. Not one staff member offered us anything. We had a picnic table near the pool we sat at in the heat for hours. Many of them just sat in their golf carts watching us. My suggestion is, if you are bringing kids or a large group- dont stay here. If you want to stay where it’s safe, do t stay here. Police do not respond, even though they say they will send someone.
Great spot for camping. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. So easy to deal with when needing help. The campground was clean and though the bathrooms are a bit barebones they are well maintained and clean. You do have to pay to shower which was different for us but I think that helps keep them clean. The campground kind of has 2 different environments, wooded or the field. The field is very open without much shade and the sights are packed into one another. The wooded is the exact opposite. Wish they had more full hookups but the dump station was easy to access when needed. Poop was nice and never crowded. River was nice and those tent sights looked cool. The campground has lots of seasonal people that didn’t seem to be there during the week so mid weak was kind of quiet where the weekends were busier. Overall great stay though wish had all their sights full hookups.
