It’s known for being “very quiet and out of the way,” offering a serene escape that’s still accessible to the charm and amenities of nearby towns.
Davis Roadside Park has quickly become a favorite among those in the know, especially for RV groups who return multiple times a year. Why the repeat visits? Because, as our local campers attest, this campground is "constantly improving." This commitment to enhancement means that every visit often brings new upgrades, from better utility connections to improved accessibility. What truly sets Davis Roadside Park apart is its ability to blend peaceful seclusion with practical convenience. Accessibility to the park has recently seen significant improvements, making it even more convenient for all types of vehicles, especially RVs. A major highlight is the completion and opening of "the new bridge on the west end," which now boasts "no height restrictions." This is a crucial upgrade for RVers, ensuring "easy access to restaurants and entertainment" without worrying about overhead clearances. The roads leading to the park are typically well-maintained, allowing for a smooth journey to your camping spot.
The park's location offers a fantastic base for exploring the wider Atchafalaya Basin, North America's largest freshwater swamp. Phone Number: Publicly available information for a direct phone number for Davis Roadside Park itself is not always readily accessible, as it often operates as a smaller, managed park rather than a large commercial campground with a dedicated booking office.

Great place to camp! Very quiet and out of the way. There were 2 others there when I arrived by the time I left there was only 1 other camper. Lafayette is about a good 30 minute drive but Breaux Bridge is much closer and has everything you need.
Our RV group stays here at least 5-6 times each year. The campground is constantly improving. First, the new bridge on the west end is complete and open with no height restrictions, providing easy access to restaurants and entertainment. Second, the utility connections have been upgraded, and each pedestal has 20, 30, and 50 Amp connections. There is ample shade, asphalt sites, a nice boat ramp and playground. The fishing is good. The grocery store, two miles east, in the community of Butte La Rose has the best fried chicken on weekends. FYI, The restroom is unisex, and is lockable from the inside. Most RVers don’t use it, so it will be available for tent campers. All of these pictures are in or taken from the campground.
This place is amazing. Yes there is some traffic noise because you are close to the road. But let me just say what a nice clean peaceful place this is. It has made me rethink traveling through Louisiana- I’ve decided to stay for a month- not here because there is a 10 day limit- but at a place nearby. $10 a day for full hookups too, you don’t get a deal like that anywhere that I have ever been.Lots of gator watching too!
Great overnight parking! Spacious spots to back into with pads to set up on. The campground was clean, with about 17 spaces. They are a first come, first serve so we were lucky to stay. We will stay here again.
Nice location on the river, but the water was not working on site 12. They were on site to fix the water the next morning. Worth staying here, as it was peaceful, clean, and we felt rested! Would definitely stay here again! 😉
