This place is MEDIOCRE at best. Our room smelt of Marijuana 4/7 nights we where there from either the room next to us or people outside even though it stated no smoking, people roaming around outside all hours of the night. Washer and Dryer were out of order and got told to just “go to a laundromat somewhere”. The heater was broken, called the front office and they sent a maintenance person an hour later, the tv did not work, beds where rock hard AND had garbage under them. If you can find another place for even 10$ more I definitely would.
Rose at the desk was super friendly and helpful. The place is a bit old but well kept; everything is clean and in order. The only star off for the rooms is because the carpet needs a refresh / replacement. Keep your shoes and/or slippers on and you'd be fine. It's a great value for short stays.
The rooms don't have roaches or bed bugs. The toilet flushes and the shower is hot. That's about all that can be said. Real talk: -Room smelled like cigarettes. Management didn't care. -Room was not cleaned during stay. No "do not disturb" signs either, they just don't clean rooms daily. -Only perks to the place are that it's close to downtown and also on the road out of town to black canyon of the Gunnison. Summary: If you can afford better, stay somewhere better.
We stayed for one night with our dog. The room itself was very clean, or as clean as it could be. Make sure if you are staying with a pet to stay on the first floor. There is no elevator and some of the rooms have a steel grated stairway, not ideal for pets. The ice maker was on the ground floor and wasn’t working at the time. Thankfully Christie (sp) the kindest woman on the planet who was working the front desk helped us with the ice situation. Christie was so helpful and was super great with juggling multiple tasks that all of the guest hammered her with. The hotel is still around because of her, do better with your properties Wyndham and make sure to acknowledge your excellent staff member(s) at your properties.
Arrive at 11:45pm to a locked office door with a sign saying to call a number. We called and no one answered. After waiting 20 minutes we called the police. A person did show up about 10 minutes later. The police were great. The worker had dropped the ball and these things happen. But the room has mold and flies. The railing on the steps to the second floor was not safe. We are scheduled for a second night, we may need to find another option. It will go down in our top five worst hotels in our 40 years of marriage.
