Decatur / Wheeler Lake KOA Holiday

My experience with Beyonder was easily the best it could have been! I stayed here to bring in the New Year with my children in a peaceful setting. I actually booked a tent site. I didn’t account for the weather so Lisa reached out to me the day of to offer me a cabin at the same rate since I had my babies with me and she wouldn’t feel comfortable with us in a tent in those conditions. When I tell you I was blown away! And the cabin was beautiful! They took care of us during our 3 night stay. It was so peaceful. And the sunset is to die for! I plan on coming back when it warms up to give my babies their first tent experience. It’s a beautiful site ran by beautiful people and will be my go to for mini vacation with the babies!

We stayed over a week here. All of the personnel were very easy to work with and friendly we felt more like family than customers. The whole campground is clean and well kept. Wifi was very good and we had good reception with Verizon. Bathhouses are very nice and clean. A friend of ours rented a cabin and liked it very much. It was very nice. Fishing was fun and we also went out on our boat while there. It was too cold to swim but there is a nice beach for the warmer months. My grand kids loved the playground. Oh I almost forgot that there was horseback riding too. We enjoyed riding our bikes around the campground. It is close enough to stores if you need to run to town for anything but they have a lot of essentials in the general store. The laundry was clean and functioning very well. I cant say enough about how nice this place is.

This place was a great campground for our weekend stay! The spots were very nice with cement picnic tables and fire pits. They seem to have a lot of activities along with a beach, kayak rentals, and playground for kids. We did the kayak rentals and the staff is super friendly and truly cares about the campground. If you are interested in the kayak rental, the store doesn’t open until 9 am, so we did have to kill 30 minutes because we expected 8 but should have checked first.

I have traveled across the US twice now and this is the best park I’ve ever been. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay for the night or longer (I recommend longer), check out Beyonder Getaway at Wheeler Lake. The views here are stunning, sites are level, spacious, it’s so peaceful, a great place to relax, and the staff is AMAZING!! I cannot thank Lisa and the team enough. They helped me out when I really needed it. Stay here! You will love it!

Fantastic park with the friendliest service we have experienced in our impromptu trip that has covered seven states and many parks so far. We have recently been in COE parks, state parks and plenty of private campgrounds. Beyoder Getaway has been the friendliest park without question. I would highly recommend it. It’s kid friendly, pet friendly and customer friendly with plenty of on site and local options. Great quiet place to stay!
