Most peaceful campground ever! Located by a river, nestled half mile in the woods, spacious sites, full hook ups. Great camp host Kathy, helped us every step of the way. Highly recommend
Mr Ron was extremely helpful, he got us checked in our site, and even showed us to our destination by letting us follow him. He was so kind and friendly. The campground is very secluded on the river but I still had AT&T service on my phone. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return again.
Stayed at Site #3 on the Satilla River for two nights. Wonderful camp host and owner. Beautiful setting. The river is peaceful. PROS: - lovely setting and very private. Right up close to the river. Very quiet, tho we were here on a Monday and Tuesday in a major heat wave, not many people want to camp in south GA then. No bathhouse - you must be self-contained. (We are) Loved having full hookups. CONS: - booking process is a bit confusing, it works, but…. The Internet/cell access is dicey - we had decent coverage with our Verizon, TMobile was flakey. Road into the campground is dirt. We’re towing a big travel trailer and tho road had recently been graded, I was so glad it was dry. Leaving our site nearly took off our awning - it would be helpful if a few trees on the road out were removed. We literally had inches to spare after backing up and trying again. The dirt road is graded with soft edges and a steep drop off of 6-8 inches. The cut needed to get truck and trailer out is super tight. If the tire slips off the road, a tow will be needed. We actually dragged the tucked up trailer stairs a bit in the dirt leaving. We have a RAM Crew Cab with a 37 foot TT. This was a good experience - a nice campsite by the river, mostly quiet, little boat traffic, fish jumping, owls calling. :)
The BEST campground we have stayed at! Wonderful owners and camp hosts. Accommodating, attentive. Quiet peaceful atmosphere that is conducive to relaxing and having a wonderful time. Large, spacious camping sites nestled among the trees, spread on over 100 acres. The Satilla River offered the best kayaking we have had since we began traveling in July of 2020.
We enjoyed this quiet campground for a week. We had water and electric only but there spots with sewer hookups. The water has a sulphur smell that was quite strong at first but seemed to lessen over the week. There was a dump station close to our site which we were able to use. There are no public bath rooms to review. Our AT&T service worked. We took a day trip to Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge with our kayaks and had a wonderful paddle with the alligators. If you like being out in the woods far from town this is your spot. We would come back here.
