Deep Creek Campground provides access to the southern portion of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This location has access to numerous trails, and plenty of campsites. You will find a parking pass kiosk near the bathrooms if you aren’t planning on camping.
This is a huge campground on the North Carolina side of GSMNP. As with all of the campgrounds in the park, there are no showers but the restrooms are clean and well-kept. This campground has accommodations for every kind of camping you can think of. As an added perk, you can rent inner tubes to go down Deep Creek. The upper end of the ride has lots of rapids perfectly suited for the inner tubes. The lower half is a lazy river ride. The hiking in the area is fantastic. There are three waterfalls you can hike to. You can see all three of them with a nice 6 mile loop. I have camped at all of the campgrounds in the park and this one is my favorite.
Been coming here for 55 yrs. I love this place. Many memories made here. Only downfall is as price per night has risen, still have no shower facilities.
Quiet with plenty of space between the RV sites, surrounded by hiking trails and waterfalls. Tent sites are next to the creek in close proximity to one another and great for groups. No hookups at the sites, but the campground has a dump station and water as you exit the park. Bathrooms are simple and very clean, cold water only, no showers. Cell signal is good.
Wonderful campsite! Gorgeous creek right behind, clean bathrooms, some cute hikes nearby. Sites are a little close but perfect for a group. Can't wait to come back and tube!
