We stayed at the place last year for our fishing trips twice, itโs a great camp spot super chill. Should be going back this year for sure again!
Didn't stay here, but we stopped and bought a water and a T-shirt at the store. A friendly guy was running the place, said he was minding the store for his sister, who was away for the weekend! Apparently they offer tanning as well?!?
Such a beautiful place. Quiet and secluded. The owners are really nice and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Definitely should make this a place to stay on your trip to the beach. Close to amenities, but far from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trap.
ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES!!!! We drove 2 hours to a campsite that was first come first serve we did not get there in time so we drove around looking for places.. found nothing. Was pretty much dark and had nowhere to go so we ended up here ๐ this is not a campsite it is a junkyard with rusted tractors and rotting trailers lining the driveway, you can easily tell this Is somebody's house they turned a field into a carport they call a site. The only upside it the stars are beautiful out here at night.
My partner and I were very disappointed with this campground. A tent site will set you back $26.90 a night - far overpriced for the quality of the campground! There were at least 20 tent sites but only 6 of them had a fire pit. Only ONE of those six fire pits was not filled to the brim with beer cans, food waste, and other trash. There was an extensive recycling system (separated glass, plastic, metal, etc.) but seemingly no trash, not even near the bathrooms. This is likely why the fire pits were filled. None of the sites had benches or picnic tables. The bathroom was a porta-potty, which I suspect had not received maintenance in quite some time, it smelled like rancid cat urine and I'm somewhat convinced there was an animal living along the back wall. It was one of those fancy porta-potties that had a small sink, but unfortunately there no water. There were also about 5 RVs staying here. They were all in various states of decay, I think most of them were abandoned. The one person we did run into from an RV saw us, turned around, and instantly went back into his RV. Even in the middle of summer, the rest of the tent sites were empty, so we were the only other people staying there. Once we decided it was time to go to sleep, we found that our patch of grass was slightly uneven, not ideal for a tent. At about 1am, we were woken up a small group of coyotes howling nearby (if you don't know, they sound like women screaming, which is what I initially thought it was). We recognize there was little chance of them bothering us, but howling coyotes compounded with a creepy, run-down campground is a horror moving in the making. Once we finally got back to sleep, we were woken again at 5am to the sound of cars speeding down the nearby road. If it wasn't for the fact that this campground was the only one in the area after our initial plans fell through, we would have left and asked for a refund before we went to sleep. It felt unsafe and overpriced and we will certainly NOT be returning or recommending this campground to anyone.
