Cycling east to west; This place was magical and very beautiful. Free, One pit toilet, no water running, access to beautiful fresh stream. Tough 2 mile gravel road from the trail/highway. I have 700x40 tires and that was pushing it at points. But I made it in and out.

Nice place to set up a tent and sleep for a night while on a road trip. There’s a pit toilet and a stream that runs along the area. Many of the sites could fit multiple tents.

I stayed here in the shoulder season as I was passing through the area and was pleasantly surprised at how clean this campsite was. The road is a little rutted. But the Subaru had no problem getting up there. And it was a short drive, maybe only about 10 minutes. Moving pretty slow up a forest service road. To get here, I saw an a previous review that there were bears cited in the area so I was pretty cautious and kind of kept to my car and camp area but was able to explore around a little bit and the landscape is beautiful.

We were heading Sloway Campground and found out it was closed. So we did some Google research and found Deer Creek.. This is a small, but great Campground. Surprisingly, Very Clean! Beautiful spot. I think it only has 5 or 6 camping spots. Bumpy logging road coming in, but it's free camping.

The road is dirt shortly off of the highway - needed to go slow to avoid potholes and larger rocks, but still made it in a minivan. Only five or so campgrounds, but not many people are headed up that far so it was very quiet. We only saw one other camper during explorations. No issues with mosquitoes, the creek moves fast enough it is not a problem.
