Nice rural spot with amazing views. Narrow dirt/gravel road getting up to the camp, so any full-size vehicles should be mindful. Camp sites are limited to 13 sites on a first come, first serve basis, so show up early. Good luck finding a site after 10 am, but if you do, the views and trails will reward you. No service's other than a pit toile, so bring everything with you since the road is long and narrow. HIGHLY recommend watching the sunset while there. Just a FYI, deer will walk up to your camp without fear so make sure to put away ANY food.

Difficult to grab a spot even on weekdays, would recommend showing up around 10/11am. About 7-8 of the spots are level enough to camp out of your vehicle but you'll want/need some leveling blocks, most are meant for tents due to the terrain. Every spot was occupied during a random August weekday at 5pm, the leveled spots were occupied by campervans / campertrucks looking dug in for a few days.

It was good time on weekend and enjoyable view on the top mountain. Different experience with weather. Dirty on road about 30-40 mins. I want to go again

We asked the Park Ranger for the location of the best views around. She sent us to this campground. She informed us that the road was dirt/gravel for 17 miles. No problem! A must experience. I would encourage you to make the drive, just be careful, and focus. Blue mountain is 6,000 Feet elevation. After arriving at the campground, drive a lil more upward, then submit the mountain on foot🧗 This was truly an amazing adventure that I will never forget. Check it out and you will see why. 😛😉🤠

Spectacular campground! At 5400ft, this is the highest car-camping location in Olympic National Park. It provides access to Blue Mountain, one of the easiest peaks to summit inside ONP borders. This makes it a popular spot for hikers and sight-seers, even though it lies some 45 minutes off the 101. The drive in is paved for a while, but when the true ascent begins, the road turns to dirt/gravel and narrows to one-car width at times, hugging the mountainside the whole way. That said, it's a gorgeous drive through rural countryside all the way from the highway. The campground is not large and can fill up quickly on the weekend. There is one indoor pit toilet for all to share, but it seems to stay reasonably clean. The campsites are nice and some have some really spectacular views. Just 5 minutes further uphill is a small parking lot just below the summit of Blue Mountain. From here you can see to Port Angeles, Canada, the San Juan Islands, and the Washington mainland. It's just a short walk up to the summit, where you get a full 360 view of the land, with the northeastern Olympic Mountains to the south. Must see at sunrise and sunset alike. Olympic Otter
