Customer Feedback:

  • "The best campground, clean with nice views. There are showers with hot water. I loved my stay here. Really nice firepits."
  • "Loved this campground! It is a ways from the highway so car noise is minimal, but highway is a steep hill so the occasional truck is noisy. Sites are VERY private because of the 10-15 foot tall, beautiful juniper trees, and the sites are spaced well apart."
  • "The campground did not have any street lights, so star gazing was great! This campground is a 1-2 minute up the hill from the marina that is on the reservoir. The marina operator rents boats (in season), so we plan to come back someday to rent a boat and explorer the lake."

Loved this campground! It is a ways from the highway so car noise is minimal, but highway is a steep hill so the occasional truck is noisy. Sites are VERY private because of the 10-15 foot tall, beautiful juniper trees, and the sites are spaced well apart. Some of the sites had enough slope that getting a motorhome level would have been impossible. The campground did not have any street lights, so star gazing was great! This campground is a 1-2 minute up the hill from the marina that is on the reservoir. The marina operator rents boats (in season), so we plan to come back someday to rent a boat and explorer the lake. Pix is from RV roof after sunset.

Loved this place. Easy access to restrooms, and showers. All facilities well kept, and clean. Relatively quite, considering the close proximity of other campsites. Shade is limited so bring an awning. Gary and his wife were excellent hosts and very helpful, they also sell firewood. Recommend reserving sites 1-2 weeks in advance. They have a handicap site that would hold an RV or a 4 to 6 man tent. We camped at site number 4, with my father in law whom is paralyzed from the waist down and it worked very well. The only nuisance we had was the sites are very sandy, so bring a broom to sweep your tent. Great place for kids and family. The near by marina offers boat slip rentals for 20 bucks a night. Camping is 25 per night, with 4 dollars per day for extra vehicle. The marina also requires a 5 dollar per day use fee, you can also get a week pass or an annual one for 35 bucks. Dutch John's stores were expensive, however the staff are extremely helpful.

Similar to other National Forest Campgrounds but so clean! The husband and wife duo hosts are friendly and hardworking. There was never a moment when the husband wasn't working on campground upkeep. Showers were clean, outhouses didn't smell like outhouses, sites were well kept. The campground was a little loud but the hosts addressed it. Upon arrival we met the hosts and were given a map of hiking trails and some sight-seeing recommendations. I would recommend this campground to anyone- passing through or staying for a while.

I want to reiterate what others have said - this campground isn't being run well at this time. The camp hosts are limiting access to the showers and not policing the people coming in from other camp grounds to use the facilities. They have also limited the hours for showers from 10-8 which is a major hassle. Hosts cited that it was too much cleaning to keep them open all the time. In my opinion: that's tough, that's the job you signed up for. They also don't unlock the back showers until there's a long line. Tired of literal truck loads of families swarming the bathhouse and not paying for showers. Parents, if you have a teenage girl that's been on the lake all day: SHE DOESN'T NEED A 40 MINUTE SHOWER! She's been in the cleanest water on the planet all day. Just say no.
