Customer Reviews
We have been camping here with our grandchildren for several years. We recently sold our camper and chose to rent one of the six person cabins. Our grandchildren really enjoy riding their bikes, fishing, and playing basket ball, as well as pickle ball. The office staff are always so helpful and kind and the cabin was clean and nice. We have already booked for August and October next year. Deer Run just feels right to us. The campsites are roomy, there's fish to be caught, and since it's gated, our grandchildren feel safe.
I recently camped here with 2 families on other sites and after hearing their experiences I thought I would write this review. We have always enjoyed our stays in the past. The sites are spacious and easy to get into, the grounds themselves are very well taken care of. We have rented golfcarts and used the lake for kayaking and swimming. However, this last visit with all of us coming in at different times we all experienced the same service from the girl behind the desk. She was rude to all of us and acted like we were interrupting her day. Maybe she was just having a bad week, but we have never experienced this before as the previous people have been very helpful and friendly. Hopefully this was just a bad time for her.
This campground was awesome. I loved the cabins, they were so comfortable and very nicely furnished with everything I needed. The lake was beautiful and the local wildlife was stunning. I even enjoyed the chapel and Sunday service. Highly recommend this place to anyone that is considering an alternative to a hotel!
We thought the place was great (beautiful campground, lots to do for the kids) until we pulled out the hide-a-bed mattress (we stayed in the Hidden Hideaway cabin). I wouldn’t even call it a mattress, it was just springs with plastic stretched over it. It was late so we made do & placed the blanket under the kids & went to bed. I called the front desk the next day to ask if the mattress could be replaced. They stated that 7 other families had stayed in that cabin before us & no one had complained. I asked them to come & at least look at it. They stated they had no one available to look at it & because it was the weekend, they would not be able to replace the mattress. I told them that I could not have my kids sleep on it a second night. The managers (husband & wife) were so rude to me. Basically calling me a liar because so many other families had stayed & not complained. I still don’t understand why someone just wouldn’t walk to our cabin to look at it. I was just asking someone to address my concern. We were staying there with a large group of friends. Some were in the other cabins & some were in the RV spots. The two other families in the surrounding cabins, said the same thing about the mattress on the hide-a-bed. We cut our vacation short & checked out.
Had a wonderful camping experience, however the girl who checked us in was extremely rude and not at all friendly - not sure if she was having a bad day, but all the individuals I camped with said the same thing about her. Would strongly recommend replacing her with someone that enjoys customers, she does not seem to be suited to this job. Not a real good 1st impression.
