Delle Campsite Introduce
For many Utahns, the call of the open road and the vast, unblemished landscapes of our state are irresistible. When it comes to finding a place to escape the everyday hustle without breaking the bank, word-of-mouth recommendations often lead to some of the best hidden gems. One such spot that has garnered a reputation among local outdoor enthusiasts is Delle Campsite, located on an Unnamed Road near Grantsville, UT 84029. While it may not fit the traditional mold of a developed campground with designated sites and extensive amenities, Delle Campsite offers something even more valuable for the adventurous soul: freedom, space, and a true taste of Utah's rugged West Desert.
Utah is known for its incredible diversity of landscapes, from the towering peaks of the Wasatch Front to the dramatic red rock canyons of the south. The West Desert, where Delle Campsite is situated, offers a unique beauty of its own – a vast expanse of high desert terrain, perfect for those who seek wide-open spaces and the thrill of off-road exploration. This isn't your typical crowded campsite; instead, it's a more informal, "pulloff" style camping area where you can truly spread out and enjoy the solitude. For locals who are tired of booking reservations months in advance or dealing with packed campgrounds, Delle Campsite presents a refreshing alternative.
The allure of Delle Campsite lies in its simplicity and the freedom it affords. It’s a place where you can pitch your tent or park your RV without the constraints of a formal site number or strict rules. This makes it an excellent choice for a spontaneous weekend trip, a quick overnighter, or even an extended stay for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the desert environment. It’s particularly popular with ATV and UTV riders, who find the surrounding terrain perfectly suited for exhilarating adventures. If you’re a Utahn who loves to explore by off-road vehicle, or simply desires a quiet, no-frills camping experience under the vast desert sky, Delle Campsite is definitely worth considering.
Delle Campsite is located on an Unnamed Road, specifically near Grantsville, UT 84029, USA. Situated in Utah's expansive West Desert, this area offers a distinct high desert landscape that provides a stark but beautiful contrast to the more mountainous regions of the state. For Utah residents, particularly those in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area and surrounding valleys, Delle Campsite is remarkably accessible. Grantsville is approximately 35 miles west of Salt Lake City, making it a feasible destination for a day trip or a quick overnight escape from urban life. While these roads are generally passable, it's always advisable for local users to be prepared for unpaved conditions, especially after inclement weather. A vehicle with higher clearance, such as an SUV or truck, is recommended, although many standard vehicles can navigate the main access points. Not so much a campground as a pulloff but nobody bothered me for 4days and 3 nights. There's a ranch/range up the dirt road and they're trucking cattle up there
Free camping, great place to ATV/UTV, etc. Lots to do!
Difficult to find access road but lots of area if you persevere! We ended up in a flat open area with no problems. Lots of ATV trails and walking paths but ground cover very prickly for our dog. Good one night stop
This is just a dry, exposed, hot piece of desert that’s been worn out by trucks and OHVs. No services. Just ruts and sun and dust. BLM.
Just a gravel boondocking spot in the desert, minimal road noise, a couple miles from a gas station with plenty of room to walk around.
