Many memories... You can feel the spirits of 100 years of scouting there... I remember repelling down Castle Rock... I remember The pioneer cabin. Picking tadpoles out of the abandoned pool. Klondike derbies... The shoe swami... Nights at the lodge with the giant propane heater going.
I was there in the late 60s for leader training. It was an amazing place which taught so much about scouting and the outdoors. I learned so much in those two weeks. Now the outdoor part is called bushcraft like it's something new. Most of what I learned there I still use every day.
I love this place, and spend a lot of time here. Intro to Outdoor Leadership Skills, Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, Wood Badge, National Youth Leadership Training—this is the go-to place!
