Denny Creek Campground, located near North Bend, Washington, falls under the Campgrounds & RV Parks category and serves as a base for outdoor activities, particularly hiking. While not the most scenic location due to its environment, it offers practical amenities and access to notable trails.
Environment: The campground's environment is characterized by its location between two freeways, resulting in a significant amount of road noise. Services: The campsites are large and reported to be well maintained. Multiple water spigots are available throughout the campground for easy access to water, although there are restrictions on their use, such as not washing dishes to prevent drain clogs. The campground offers sites with and without electricity, priced at $50 and $35 per night, respectively. A 50% discount is available for seniors with a pass.
Features: A major feature of Denny Creek Campground is its direct access to three wonderful hiking trails: Wagon Wheel (less maintained and fewer people), Franklin Falls (very accessible), and Denny's Creek (longer). The proximity to these trails makes it a convenient location for hikers. The campground is between two freeways, so there is a lot of road noise. The ground is pretty bare and there are many felled trees. It's not one of the most scenic places. However, the hiking trails are wonderful!! There are three: Wagon Wheel (fewer people, less maintained, away from the river), Franklin Falls (very accessible), and Denny's Creek (longer). It's $50 per night for sites with electricity and $35 for sites without. 50% discount for seniors with a pass.
Large campsites that were well maintained. Multiple water spigots for easy access to water, though signs says not to wash dishes with them amongst other things that easily clog up drain. Easy access to creek and trails, the only complaint is that it's right by i-90 and at night trucks that pass by gets pretty loud which is why I took off a star.
Beautiful surroundings and plenty of nearby hikes. Fun restaurants at the summit. Bathrooms have not been cleaned in the three days we have been here. Washroom on upper loop is a mess. Men's toilet is plugged; hand drier does not work; ventilation is horrible with swamp gas smell constantly. Women's sink has no water. Lower washroom men's urinal not working. No sign of campground host. Ranger said he did not know about the problems with the bathroom. Campground was closed last year for repairs. We observed the same problems with washrooms two years ago. What did they fix?
This is a lovely place to camp. It lies between the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90. You can hear the traffic but it is not overwhelming. The campground host was nowhere to be found while I was there. It’s a short drive to Snoqualmie Pass where you can purchase supplies.
It was pretty. It was serene. Spots are right next to each other but set up to be as private as possible with all the trees. We wanted an rv spot to hook up sewer water. There are a few spots set up for power, &they were reserved. It was beautiful out there in the forest, as close to off grid as it gets without being off grid. We checked in at 10pm, had a little fire to cook our chicken, & checked out at 11am because all spots were reserved. There's an envelope & drop box similar to one's found registering @remote trailheads.
