Pretty amazing! Easy trail to get to campgrounds in January wet season only used 4x2 from interstate 95. Trial gets more difficult after the campgrounds 4x4 is the best option. I completed the trail using 4x2. Rocky roads air down the tires to feel less of an impact during your travels. I've only been recently, a week after a lot of rain and it had hard snow and some mud nothing crazy but if you get there from interstate 95 I never used my 4x4 on the trail but I did use it in the snowy campgrounds to park where I wanted. We had a winter tent and the temperature in the tent was 21°F at night during the day it's great temps at about 32°F with no winds with the sunshine. It has a picnic area in each camping section and the worst part is the bathrooms but that's expected for camping out far from society. I will revisit during spring and summer!
I give it 4 stars because it is well maintained for being so far off the beaten path. If you like driving hours along a bumpy dirt/ rock road, this is for you. Great chance that you will have the campground entirely to yourself. Do not try to pull a trailer up here. You will want a truck or jeep or anything with high clearance.
Great campground with lots of space and a few camp sites all spread out nicely. We were the only ones out there at the time. The weather can change very quickly, as we learned on our second day. I'd suggest high clearance vehicle or 4x4 if you have it, and that goes for either direction you may take to the campground. We did it with a Jeep Compass fwd no problem..just took it easy. No running water out there. Pack it in and pack it out and enjoy!
Good offroad campground. Very nice sights around. Definitely need a high clearance vehicle probably with 4x4 but the trail isn't too hard overall. We got stopped on the way back the the 15 but it was because the rain previously messed up the road so we had to turn around back to the 95 freeway. Still totally worth it. I would say it takes about a day to do the mormon well trail from one end to the other but that's with stops and eating as well. The campground is amazing and we are definitely going back to camp. It's very close to vegas overall and still the sky is amazing at night and super quiet like vegas isn't even there. There is a bathroom. No running water so bring some to spare.
Nice little casual trail.. 2WD friendly, but go slow if u have stock tires. Great way to escape the heat, decent bathroom, nice flat spots to pitch a tent. Always a good spot with hardly anyone around.
