Devil's Fork Campground is the spot for deep western Virginia, especially if you're visiting the Devil's Bathtub. The campground is so close to the trail leading to the Tub that you could walk there almost as easily as drive. The camp store is small but has a great selection of drinks and snacks, and they have plenty of ice and firewood to keep your cooler full and your food cooking. They have RV sites with water and power hook-ups as well as primitive sites for tent or car camping, all of which are spacious, have large areas of good gravel and of good grass, picnic tables, fire rings, and plenty of space to set up camp. We stayed over a weekend and actually got a chance to meet the owners who stopped by to say hello and make sure we were settling in well. They were great people and really made us feel welcomed and appreciated. They even have Wi-Fi which is great as phone signal can be hard to find in such mountainous terrain. I would absolutely recommend spending some time here and discovering the beauty of Scott County and of Dungannon, Virginia.

Found this place in route to Devils Bathtub Trail on Google Maps thank goodness! After 2 nights of car camping in the forest it was awesome to have a place so close to our next trail to relax at! Met the owners, which BTW its privately owned, and they were so friendly and gave us some of the history of the place. The place is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS with the tall exposed rock wall, the Stoney Creek running through, and tons of just greenery. We stayed at site 5 and backed right up to the creek for a peaceful night of sleep. Definitely recommend the camp place and Definitely recommend the Devils Bathtub Trail and also The Great Channels as well! They are I think within 30min from eachother BUT get to the hikes early if you want solitude.

Phenomenal little camp ground. Well cared for and within a short walking distance to the Devil’s Bathtub trailhead. Surprised to have access to wifi while camping, too! What an unexpected bonus!

We have seen many campgrounds, but none as wonderful as this place, wonderful owners and wonderful stay! Came for 1 night, stayed 3, enjoyed the absolute quietness.

This is such a nice campground privately owned at the base of the Devils bathtub trail. The owners are super nice, welcoming, and accommodating. They communicated well with us during the reservation process and before our arrival. We towed a small camper up with us and stayed in one of the water and electric hook up lots. They have port-o-potties on site if your tent camping or follow the only #1 rule of camper living. Our dogs were welcome and the owners came and introduced themselves to us on the 2nd evening of our stay. We got in later than expected the night before and they even offered us an extra night stay free of charge. We truly wanted to stay longer as the area is so beautiful and peaceful but responsibilities of life drug us back home Saturday. The camp store is open on the weekends and they have sticker and koozie souvenirs. GPS does cut out on the way there and we missed the turn in the 1st time. Print directions off so you don't make the same mistake or just make sure you turn at high knob road. While there we hiked to devils bathtub a moderate 2 mile hike up and 2 mile hike back. I jumped in the little swimming hole at the main parking of devils bathtub which is a short walk up the road from campground and we visited the high knob observation tower to view 5 states. All this is right by the camp. Owner also told us of the creek down the road past the campground that they would swim in as kids. Unfortunately we didn't make it there but definitely will the next stay up. They also have a camper you can rent which is what we will do next time and save the gas and struggle of hauling ours up the mountain roads. I definitely recommend this campground to anyone wanting to hike the area and take in some of nature's wonders. Tent sites are $20/night I believe and our rv site was $80/night. This campsite definitely rates beyond 5 stars! I would rate it all the stars in saw in the sky at night up there as the view is spectacular from any campsite on the property. Don't second guess just book and stay and enjoy the peace and serenity of the area!
