Went to the campground and Devils Head Mine... very nice area for camping, picnicking, or even just a day trip! Driving in or out, watch for the hairpin turns and ATVs and Dirt bikes as they are moving quick around the corners. The Mine was very cool hike and if you are a rock Hound... there is pretty quartz pieces if you are willing to make the haul
Stayed mid week in August, had entire place to ourselves. Very scenic. 9 mi dirt road in was a little bumpy but very doable in SUV. Catch the gas station before leaving town as nothing really close, that we saw. At the campsite the vault toilet is especially nice on the upper loop, the lower loop is currently closed. You can still camp and see the lookout, though. Oh, and tons of really nice looking ATV trails all throughout the area, but none in this campsite when we went. Will def be returning.
Solid Campground with well maintained trails. Labor Day Weekend was a little rowdy but I'm sure that can be avoided.
