**Customer Feedback:**
Guests who have stayed at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA Journey have shared their experiences, highlighting both the positives and areas for improvement. Many visitors praise the cleanliness of restrooms and showers, as well as the well-maintained pool and miniature golf course. The stunning views of Devils Tower and the outdoor theater experience are also frequently mentioned as highlights.
However, a few guests have pointed out that some amenities, like laundry rooms and showers, can be far from the campsites, which may be inconvenient for some visitors. Additionally, there have been instances where pricing was not clearly communicated upfront. Despite these issues, the campground’s management has shown responsiveness in addressing guest concerns.
I have stayed in the campgrounds only once. Bathrooms and showers were kept very clean. Pool and miniature golf were also very well maintained and fun. Pet friendly campground. Most of all, great view of Devils Tower and they show Close Encounters in the outdoor theater.
Stunning views of Devils Tower. Very clean restrooms and showers. My biggest complaint is the closed amenities with zero notice when placing reservations online. I fully expect pool closures, but why laundry rooms - all of them, closed. And the only showers and restrooms, a far walk from most of the occupied sites. Won’t be back and don’t recommend for those of us that like to visit parks during slower periods. And one last complaint: tried to charge us $60 for the site when we paid $50 online. They were courteous and promptly refunded the extra $10, but it should have never been an issue in the first place.
My site was a premium site though I would not call it that. It was good, with great views of Devils Tower. The campground was very quiet and the stars were amazing. The Bathroom/showers were like new and super clean. The host and store were great. I would say the campground could use a good dose of landscaping. Definitely a good place to stay and visit the Tower.
This KOA was very well maintained. Staff was constantly seen working around the campground and was available for questions if you needed. The view of Devils Tower is an amazing sight. If you walk to the area near the teepees, a creek flows by where you can take photos of the Tower reflecting off the water. But you will see the Tower from every place in the campground. The Close Encounters movie was fun. Take popcorn and a blanket. Be extra comfy and bring your favorite lawn chair, although there is seating provided. An extra bonus, a deer walked behind the screen during the movie! I would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful location right next to Devil's Tower. We enjoyed the quiet and dark skies. When we left, we accidentally left our trailer's water filters. I discovered it and called from our next KOA stop in Spearfish, SD, about an hour away. I asked if they would ship them to me. When they found out I was in Spearfish, one of the associates, Katy, offered to drive them over! She was planning a visit to Spearfish anyway ... but it's customer service like this you don't encounter often. What a wonderful, kind gesture on her behalf. That's the Midwest for you!
i have stayed here twice and its a nice little campground right at the base of Devils Tower! it was fairly quiet, decently clean, and the little cabins are nice although they dont have bathrooms inside them. Devils tower is by far one of the best places for stargazing, i stay here once a year to get pictures of meteor showers and they all turn out amazing!! i definitely suggest staying here
Lots of renovations happening. We were thankful that they allowed us to stay. The gift shop and restaurant were not open yet, but they had a few open rows with full hookups. We were the only campers there for 2 nights. Wonderful, helpful staff. Worth the stop!
While this is not exactly a rugged camping experience (campers are quite close together), it is located right beneath devil's Tower along the creek. The facilities are well maintained and both the pool and the bathrooms were some of the cleanest that I have seen at a campground. There are individual showers attached to the bathrooms and even for a busy weekend, it did not seem like the facilities were at capacity by any means. It has a nice gift shop, Cafe, and ice cream parlor, along with Putt-Putt golf, a couple of playgrounds, volleyball, pickleball, and probably other things that I didn't see. The best part is really being in the shadow of Devil's Tower throughout the day. Also, the staff were really nice.
