User reviews highlight the campground's appeal, noting its proximity to natural attractions and its suitability for stargazing due to minimal light pollution. However, the campground's amenities are rustic, with no running water or flushable toilets. The vaulted toilet, while reported to be clean on some occasions, has also been a source of significant concern for some visitors due to infrequent cleaning.

One review noted extremely poor bathroom cleanliness, with a lack of cleaning over a multi-day period, which significantly impacted the visitor's experience. This feedback indicates that bathroom conditions can vary and may be a point of consideration for potential campers.

Diablo Campground offers a charming natural setting for those looking to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors, with opportunities for creek-side relaxation and stargazing. However, potential visitors should be prepared for rustic conditions and consider the reported issues with bathroom cleanliness.

Nice campground, worst bathroom of all time. Bring your own...or go in the woods. We were just there and there was no cleaning from Wednesday til Sunday when we left. It was absolutely gross. I don't even know how some of the human waste ended up where it did. A couple forestry people were out for signage on Sunday and I let them know, they said they were supposed to be cleaned daily. It really affected our experience.

Cute campground right by Packer creek which is a very short drive away from Sardine lake. The campsites located by Packer creek has a direct access leading down to the stream. The campgrounds has no running water or flushable toilets. The one vaulted toilet shared amongst everyone at the campsite was very clean. Note that there is no cell reception and very little light pollution which makes it a great place for stargazing.

While the layout of the sites is wonky, the campground itself is blissfully isolated and quiet. The sites are far apart from each other, and the birding is terrific. No water, but a campground up the road has water so it’s no big deal. No camp host, but again, no big deal. Loved camping there as a way to get away from people!

We camp here twice a year, probably more as a tradition since I've been coming to this area since 1960. We always reserve one specific site because it somewhat separates us from the rest of the campers. This is a 'no-frills' campground, no running water, the bathroom is rustic to say the least - it is a for 'real campers' campground. You get a metal fire-pit ring with grill & a picnic table. The new ring installed this year is actually too tall for our liking, it's difficult to enjoy the campfire while seated around it, you have to stand up to do so. But we love coming here because of the scenery, fishing, many lakes, great hiking & mountain biking, & swimming.

Clean bathroom, chopped wood everywhere, and accessible to lakes and rivers
