My family and I just took our first trip with our new-to-us but vintage camper and it was a great time!! The staff at the office were always so kind and friendly. There’s a little general store there in case you forget essentials such as snores or popcorn, condiments etc! The check in and out process was fast and easy. Our spot was clean and ready for our camper. We had zero issues. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained as well. A little chilly inside the bathrooms as it’s October so I’m guessing there may not be heat in there but either way, totally understandable at a place for camping! The location was perfect. A quick drive from Milford and NJ. It was VERY quiet the entire time as well! We stayed near the loop by the bathrooms as we have little ones with us. It made for the perfect spot for them to ride their bikes safely and close by. Everyone except a few people, followed the 5mph speed limit too which gave us peace of mind. We will 100% be back in the spring!
Great experience. New owners have made the campground a much better place to stay. Clean restrooms, daily attention. Staff is nice and professional. Camp office/store is beautiful and well stocked.Firewood prices are ridiculously outrageous though. $18 for a milk crate of probably culled out ash that they had to cut anyway. At least they deliver it to your campsite quickly. The only complaint would be the staff kids are roaring through the campground on noisy gas golf carts constantly. Not a huge issue but kinda annoying at the same time. The campground has access right by the office to the McDade trail and the sections just north of the ranger station are the best on the whole trail. If you mountain or gravel bike, it's a great ride.
Great campground. Very accommodating staff. I like that they can deliver your wood to your site. The facilities are well maintained and reguarly cleaned. There are plenty of sites to select from along the river or more spacious and private campsites tucked within the woods. I really appreciate management permitting me a late checkout on more than one occasion. That and the fact one can attain a river site almost any given day is a major plus, and you can't ask for more. I'll keep returning. It's less than 2 hours from NYC. A worthy commute.
Great location! RV sites were nice and roomy. Bathrooms very clean including portables near the river. Friendly staff. Water/Electric hookup with a basic dump station. Love the location to the river and surrounding "falls" trails for hiking and McDade biking. All campers were quiet as far as we could tell. There is very minimal or non-existent cell service and no local wifi or cable which isn't a big deal because it does let you unplug for a while but you will want to prepare for that if you need to watch TV or movies. On the negative, dumpsters were labeled as "do not use" and yellow taped. While I realize it was end of the season, there should be disposal other than the garbage cans in the restrooms. We packed in/out so it didn't affect us. We noticed one of the employees in a golf cart going significantly faster than the 5 mph limit which was kicking up a lot of dust into the sites he passed and we heard those campers complain about it. Need to obey your own rules on this one. All and all, we were very satisfied and will definitely stay here again.
Overall good campground - well maintained and one of the BEST bathroom/shower situations I’ve come across camping. The Delaware is beautiful and accessible. How much you like the place depends on what kind of experience you want. If you want a large, family/dog friendly campground with lots of people very close by, then you’re good. If what you wanted was to be a little remote and not hear kids screaming all evening/morning/afternoon, maybe look elsewhere or pick the tents on the river that are all the way to the left… maybe. I think you could’ve still heard all the kids screaming from there - not sure if it’s always that bustling. A little too crowded for my taste now, but I can see myself coming back in the future with kids in tow.
Check-in with Amanda at the office was quick and easy. We picked our site and it was easy to get into. Great to have full hook-up in a park setting. Great to be under the trees for shade and that woodsy feeling. Site was level with fire ring and picnic table. Perfect nights sleep as it was really quiet. Made friends with neighboring campers and we sat around the campfire getting to know each other. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area again.
Loved camping at Dingmans and can't wait to go back! I'd definitely recommend. We booked a riverfront site, and while we weren't necessarily staring right at the river, it was okay because there was a nice tree line surrounding the site. We were a very short walk to the river, so that was still nice. There were porta-potties and potable water right near our site, so we liked that. No electric plugs at our site, which was easy to work around. The shared facilities (bathrooms, activity areas, etc) were nice. Finally, we loved the camp store and the staff was all great.
I've been there twice and I love the place. The staff is very friendly and cool. They explained everything well. It's a quiet place with enough space to not disturb the campsite neighbors. I love the river area and all the campsites. The only thing I don't like, and why I gave it 4 stars, is because the internet connection isn't strong. All in all, I love the place and I recommend it to anyone who likes camping. A quiet and beautiful place, and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend it.
Had a great time - staff were friendly and helpful, items for sale at the office (coffee!) were convenient, bathrooms were clean and well-kept, and the campground was everything we hoped for. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for us, but we still enjoyed our stay and got to see several beautiful waterfalls in the area. Would definitely stay here again!
This natural campsite, located near many of the falls and parks, offers shade, large, individual site areas, clean bathrooms and showers. Electric and water sites as well as basic tent sites are available. Great for groups with a large open field for play/soccer. There is a river access for launching canoes and kayaks. There is a well stocked General Store for many of your needs. Milford, PA is up the road if extensive shopping is needed. This close to many of the features of the DWG.
