Dockside Campground is ideally situated at 21 E Fort McClure Blvd, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, USA. This prime location places it directly on the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River in Bloomsburg, a charming town in Columbia County, central Pennsylvania. The campground's sites "back up to the river," offering campers immediate access to the serene waterfront and picturesque views.
For Pennsylvanians, Bloomsburg is quite accessible from various parts of the state. It is conveniently located near major roadways, including Interstate 80, which runs east-west across Pennsylvania. This makes it an easy stop for those traveling across the state or a perfect destination for a weekend trip from larger metropolitan areas.
From Philadelphia, the drive typically takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, heading northwest. From Harrisburg, the state capital, it's roughly a 1 to 1.5-hour drive north. Scranton and Wilkes-Barre are approximately an hour to an hour and a half away. This manageable driving distance ensures that Pennsylvanians can easily access this tranquil riverside retreat without extensive travel.
While the drive into the campground itself might be "a little on the narrow side," as noted by a reviewer, this contributes to its secluded and quiet atmosphere, free from excessive road noise. The location is also very advantageous for local attractions. It's just "steps from Bloomsburg Town Park," which offers a pool, disc golf, a dog park, and a playground – providing ample activities for families. Furthermore, Dockside Campground is only about 10 miles from Knoebels Amusement Resort, a beloved free-admission amusement park, making it an excellent base for combining outdoor relaxation with family fun. This blend of riverside tranquility, convenient access, and proximity to local attractions makes Dockside Campground an exceptionally appealing choice for Pennsylvanians.

Address: 21 E Fort McClure Blvd, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, USA
Phone: (570) 205-7811
Mobile Phone: +1 570-205-7811
It is highly recommended to call the campground directly using these numbers to inquire about site availability, specific site types (RV, tent, camper rental), pricing, and to make reservations. Given that it's a newer, privately owned campground and reviews highlight the owners' personal involvement, a direct phone call will likely provide the most accurate and up-to-date information. Remember to clarify any questions regarding the absence of public restrooms and showers on site, and to inquire about their 2-night minimum stay requirement (3 nights on holiday weekends). You can also ask about additional services like firewood sales, pump-out options, and boat launch access to ensure a seamless and enjoyable camping trip.
For us Pennsylvanians, Dockside Campground in Bloomsburg offers an exceptionally suitable and appealing option for a local getaway, perfectly blending the tranquility of nature with convenient access to popular attractions. This privately owned gem is tailored for those who appreciate a peaceful riverside experience with a personal touch, making it an ideal choice right here in our beloved Commonwealth.
Firstly, its prime location directly on the Susquehanna River is a significant draw. For Pennsylvanians, the Susquehanna is an iconic natural feature, and having campsites that back up to its gentle waters provides an immediate sense of calm and natural immersion. The promise of "gentle sounds of lapping water and swaying trees" for a lullaby, coupled with "very little to no road noise," is precisely what we seek when escaping the daily grind. This authentic and serene atmosphere allows for genuine relaxation and a true reconnection with nature, without having to travel far from home.
Secondly, the fact that Dockside is a new and developing park with "new" utilities is a major plus for modern campers, particularly those with RVs. The availability of full hookup sites (electric, city water, and sewer) offers a hassle-free experience, ensuring comfort and convenience. While the absence of public restrooms and showers means campers should be self-sufficient, this setup often appeals to those who prefer the privacy of their own RV facilities and appreciate a less crowded, more focused camping environment. The friendly, caring owners who go out of their way to assist (like with parking) further enhance the welcoming and personalized feel, something often lost in larger, corporate campgrounds.
Moreover, Dockside Campground’s strategic location near Bloomsburg provides an excellent balance of secluded natural beauty and convenient access to local fun. Being "just steps from Bloomsburg Town Park" means families have immediate access to a pool, disc golf, and playgrounds, expanding recreational options beyond the campground. And for those seeking more thrills, being only 10 miles from Knoebels Amusement Resort is a huge bonus, allowing for easy day trips to a world-renowned amusement park. This versatility makes it perfect for a tranquil weekend or a fun-filled family vacation.
In conclusion, Dockside Campground offers a unique blend of serene riverside beauty, modern RV amenities, and the warm hospitality of dedicated owners, all within an easily accessible part of central Pennsylvania. It’s an ideal spot for any Pennsylvanian looking to unplug, enjoy nature, and create lasting memories by the beautiful Susquehanna River. It's truly a place that promises to become "the place to be" for local campers.

This campground is privately owned (not corporate) on a beautiful little property on the Susquehanna River. The sites back up to the river, so expect to have the gentle sounds of lapping water and swaying trees to lull you to sleep at night. There is very little to no road noise to boot, which is just perfect for that authentic camping experience. The owners are super friendly and truly care about the place. Heads up to future campers: the drive is a little on the narrow side, and you have to turn to the left in order to orient yourself to back into the spots. I highly recommend Dockside if you're looking for a weekend getaway or are just passing through.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this park. Called the day of looking for a spot for the night. We arrived and the view just took our breath away. The owners were right there to assist with parking. The service was everything you could ask for. The park is new and still developing but the utilities are too and thats a plus. Once this place is finished, it's going to be the place to be. Definitely will be back to see them again.
Nice family owned campground. I like that it is close to Knoebels amusement park and next to the Bloomsburg town park. The park has tons of activities to keep the kids busy.
Great location right along the river, nice setting. Friendly staff, very responsive, makes me look forward to working with them again.
