Our first time here and it was absolutely beautiful! We were a group of 6 and had such a wonderful day and night! Jamie and Frank were incredible! The hospitality and warmth we felt from them was amazing and is so hard to come by these days! We feel so grateful to have stumbled upon this place and be able to enjoy all that it has to offer. AND the bathrooms are extremely clean! I’m usually a little worried about public bathrooms and I felt super comfortable there!
We LOVE Dorabelle! It is clean, spacious and located just inside a local Shaver neighborhood. Jamie, the host, and her husband were very helpful and attentive. We camped here twice this year and really can't wait to go back next summer!
Can someone help me with this? I’m planing a camping trip to Dorabelle for this summer and I want to reserve two sites. Are the even numbers on the same side? For example, the sites numbers 014 and 016 are together? Or is it just 014 and 015? Thank you for your help!!!
Dora belle is beautiful!!!! We were at site 34 and had ample shade and privacy. Close to the bathroom and 2 min walk to the lake. The hosts are wonderful kind and helpful, giving advice on local things to do and where to go. The bathrooms are kept really clean (considering they're not flush toilets) it's a little frustrating that the day users seem to trash the bathroom as they don't have to use it over a long period of time. Hilly roads so it's fun with kids scooters/bikes. The lake is stunning. So quiet and peaceful all round. Plenty of wood piles to gather for a good bonfire.
A good campsite, lots of lovely tree cover and lovely walk to the Lake. However, the site we had smelt like poo and had leftover trash from the previous campers (glow sticks and wrappers). We had to cancel our first night and they didn't offer any refunds (60$ lost), which didn't feel great. Had a good stay regardless due to the nature here.
The campground was very well maintained. Our host was very friendly, made sure the bathrooms were nice and clean, and was very attentive. Lots of wildlife activity, we saw deer and lots of tiny critters.
Lovely campground right on Shaver Lake. Depending on the campsite you have, you might get a gorgeous overlook of the water. Double campsite 36 in particular is quite pretty.
The campsite was well maintained. The new management company did a good job keeping the campsites and toilets clean. Great location.
