DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Holland

Cold greeting when I came in to see about a single room for a night. No special rates offered to the hundreds of tradesman building the LG battery plant .4 miles away that are looking for places to stay for the duration of this contract. This was an easy no for me.

This hotel is a relic for sure, made us wonder what it was like in its heyday. The opulent foyers and grand high ceilings were fantastic but the real reason to give this place 5 stars was the staff- everyone there was super friendly and helpful and kind, but most importantly, they all took their jobs very seriously, like really committed to keeping the place in good working order. We’ll definitely be back again!

Awful experience. I called a week before to have a pool side room reserved told the lady in the phone it was specifically for my son's birthday and was going to have a few friends come for pizza. As I went to check in. I was notified that I am unable to have a kids birthday party at their hotel due to some policy. Very frustrated. They did nothing for me other than cancel my room and send me on my way. The front staff did call the GM to to at least try and make things right. Nothing was done not even a sorry from the GM. was extremely misled and super upset. Ruined my son's birthday because all the other hotels in Holland were booked out. The GM did nothing about it or not even attempt to make it right. . They just canceled my room and sent me on my way. Totally devastated and ruined a 10-year-old birthday party. I wish they would have at least done something to make it right, but they could have cared less.

We stay here when my husband has work because the hotel is clean, convenient, and the staff is usually great... but this week I wasn't there with him since he is staying on the week on the weekdays with his schedule change. I'm not sure if the girl is new or what but the one that has been working the last new nights this week is just completely unprofessional. We expect professional service when either of us stay at a Doubletree and when we go to eat in the restaurant or drink at the bar we want to enjoy our time not listen to the person from the front desk complaining about her personal life like how her mom is or her boyfriend. My husband said you could tell the bartender didn't want to say anything but was choosing to ignore her. On top of that, she was literally flirting with the (new?) house man and majority of the evening he was standing at the desk. She always looks like she's pissed off or annoyed by you and always hiding in the corner or in the back. I hope this catches the managers attention because yikes she is going to drive people away.

Rooms dirty, items didn’t work as they should, damaged and had not been fixed. Pool/hot tub cloudy and green water. Electrical in the bathroom burned the hair dryer plug and was very hot (could’ve burned skin) even after it was disconnected. Tub/shower only the shower would work the diverter was stuck. Old water stains on ceiling tiles, not all lights worked in bathroom. Dust build up on vent above shower. Hole in bathroom door and chipped all along the bottom of the door. When asked for sheets for sofa couch pillow cases had red stains on them (we didn’t use them). For the cost of the room for the two nights I am very disappointed and would not stay again nor recommend this place to anyone. Staff at front desk was nice (when they were at the desk). Also, floor staff common response when asked a question was sorry no English. I have sent an email to Hilton Guest Assistance as well.
