I checked in at 4pm, the concierge stated that my room wasn’t ready and to come back in 30 minutes. There was no where to sit or relax while waiting because the cleaning crew was vacuuming and wiping down the only seating area in the lobby. The room was large, however it smelled of old rice and the pillows were the flattest pillows I’ve ever slept on. I wasn’t able to turn my neck the next morning due to ache and pain. I received a parking pass but there wasn’t enough parking in their lot. How is a hotel going to over book a parking lot? So I had to circle around the hotel and find street parking and walk a few blocks back to the hotel. Their lamps were extremely dirty, having stains and dust on them and the toiletries given were under the bare minimum. The water station in the lobby was never filled, I had to ask the bartender each time to get water. The bartender was the only one working and was super busy the entire time. They were the bartender plus the chef, making it difficult for them to provide solid customer service due to being overworked. I usually enjoy staying at the Double Tree, but I will not be staying at this location even again.
Hotel is outdated, in need of a remodel which I’m told is forthcoming. For that reason alone, not worth the price. Worse than that, they have a bug problem. We had a box of expensive pastries on the desk and were looking forward to eating for breakfast only to wake to find it covered in ants. Disappointing way to start the day. Staff handled it well and gave us replacement breakfast & discount. I noticed that another review mentioned a bug problem & hotel response was to gaslight the reviewer. I cab confirm- there are bugs in this hotel. Also, heating & cooling did not work well. Had to call maintenance to gain access to control.
The location is okay, but if you come in from the east, the entire block looks like a homeless camp. There is definitely not enough lot parking. Service was fine but got a little "pissy" because there was a line at check-in. Rooms fantastic. Free cookies an added bonus.
spent 4 days at this hotel, they hooked me up with some forks when i accidentally got spoons for my ramen bowls. like, who would get spoons for a ramen cup? me. that's who. anyways, the staff is super kind. breakfast costs money, but the coffee is still free. the pool is cool too.
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by the Waterfront in Olympia, Washington, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few areas for improvement. First, the service was excellent—very friendly and accommodating. From check-in to check-out, the staff were welcoming and made me feel valued as a guest. Their helpfulness was one of the highlights of my stay. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, offering plenty of room to move around and relax. I appreciated the larger size, as it made for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay. However, I did notice that the cleanliness of the room could have been better, particularly in the bathroom. The toilet wasn't fully cleaned, which was a bit disappointing. Attention to detail in the cleaning process would have made the stay even better. Overall, it's a good hotel with excellent service and large rooms, but improving the cleanliness would elevate the experience.
