Don't just take our word for it—here's what some of our satisfied customers have to say:
- "We camped in site 18 at Douglas Headwater campground, and it was absolutely fantastic. The bath houses are dated, but they are cleaned twice a day. The hosts and camp staff do a phenomenal job keeping everything there organized and clean. We will definitely return. I also gave rooms 5 stars in lieu of our campsite, which was wonderful. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful place."
- "We have always loved Douglas Headwaters, it's my favorite. The views are amazing. However, this trip we noticed a few things that seem to have been let go. The grass had grown up behind sites 49, 50 at the water edge. We love walking down there and putting our chairs to watch the water. Also, the restrooms/bathhouse just were not clean. The ledge in the women's shower just needed a good wipe down, all the corners needed a wipe down, some bug spray needed to be sprayed. We are praying it was just a fluke thing this weekend."
Plan your next adventure at Douglas Headwater Campgrounds and experience the perfect blend of nature and comfort. Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, we look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of paradise.

August 2024, we stayed 3 night in the campground. Very nice and professional camp host. Well maintained with water and electricity hook-ups. The restrooms had one shower stall in the men's and women's bathroom. The swimming area was nice, warm, however, extremely crowded on the weekend. If you have a boat and/or enjoy fishing this lake is for you and family. The store is small with the basics. Yummy soft ice cream 🍦 in the store.
Beautiful campground. Checkin was quick, staff was friendly. Waterfront site 46 was not really waterfront, but was in that section. Site was not quite level and we did our best. Sites are very large, graveled, with a concrete pad holding a picnic table. Two old cigar butts were on the table. No sewer hookup so the bath house was used Bath house was clean, but small. One toilet stall, one urinal, and one shower. A larger one would have been nice. Overall a very good place to stay. Inconsiderate boaters ruin the otherwise peaceful tranquility. Revving their loud truck engines and playing loud music is very annoying. It wasn't just one, it happened several times over 5 days. The staff may not be able to contro the boaters, but signs asking them to be considerate would help, as would an occasional police presence.
Nice gravel camp sites - some slanted. Maintenance on site - switched out our power on arrival as it was shorted. Easy fix. Well maintained and clean. Swimming beach with sand bottom on Douglas Dam, boat launch, and 1 mile walking path. Bath houses could be updated. A children's play area would be a nice addition.
