Not recommended for large trailers. Road is steep- used 4 low to get our trailer down, only 1 or 2 spots to fit. Nearest cellphone service is a 5 to 10 minute drive out of the canyon. Creek runs nearby.

Beautiful place for camping! Highly recommend! No cell service which is nice to get away and it's super easy to find 😊

Straight dope: This was in the top five spots I have ever camped. Simply perfect. Go. Now.

This place gets 5 stars because it is a paradise like no other. However, the Bureau of Land Management gets no stars at all! My family has been camping in this canyon for over 40 years. We have brought hundreds of people from all over and in turn brought quite a bit of money to the town of Dove Creek. Last year the BLM decided to "organize" the campground, effectively cutting off many perfect spots for families (especially large ones) to camp with each other. They have placed rules on the campground that don't allow more than two tents per camp spot, two vehicles, or one vehicle and a trailer, though no trailers can actually fit anymore. Because trailers can no longer go down there, there are many members of our group that can not camp with us. Instead, they have to camp down the road where there is no shade. I'm highly disappointed in this, as is my whole group that shows up every single Fourth of July. Why fix what isn't broken? The decisions to make these changes were clearly made by somebody who has not spent much time camping down there.

This is a prime camping spot! I wouldn't try to get down there with a trailer, but a 4wd should have no problems by itself. Gorgeous area and super quiet.
