Down the Shore Seasonal Campground

We got there with low expectations and I’m glad we did. The fridge didn’t work, It wasn’t fully clean, and the fan in the bathroom didn’t work. But overall the trip was nice. The lake was lovely, the pool warm and calm (kind of), Mini Golf was fun, The laundromat was clean, and the club building was nice. I love how kids can play until 11pm unsupervised and it’s completely safe. To get in the campground you need a code and if you enter through the exit there are spike that can pop your tires. I like that on Saturdays there’s a movie. I like that on some days there’s some fun thing going on at the club building like for EX: there was a penny auction. There were a bunch of managers and one of them was mean. I’m not gonna say their name but they kicked me, my brother, and my cousin out of the pool because they pushed each other in. I understand that manager does kick people out all the time. But other than that this place is lovely. Friendly people everywhere. I definitely recommend.

I had a lovely 4 night stay at one of the new log cabins. I was in heaven camping AND smelling the ocean. They had a nice, safe play area for my pooch and lots of squirrels to tease. I think she was in heaven too! A pool and a lake that I will definitely try to enjoy soon. Eventhough it rained most of the time, we left relaxed and refreshed.

Rented a cabin for the week with my grandkids. Cabin was fairly new but was not cleaned very well. We found a banana peel behind the sofa and spare change under the bed. There was no bathroom hooks for towels and no clothes hooks to hang clothes. They advertised a game room but it wasn’t in operation at the time of our stay. We had to call concerning bed linens prior to coming as there was nothing on their site stating they didn’t provide bed linens. The place was a definite work in progress.

We are new seasonals and although we initially signed up for the 2024 season, we were lucky enough to move our camper in at the end of July. We are so glad we did! We ended our summer off with a bang! The campground is very well maintained, the owner Andrew and the staff need 5 stars for their communication! They have made many updates as well and you see it the moment you enter. Our old campground down the road had zero communication and even though it is owned by a big corporation, they sadly have no idea how to operate a campground. Down the Shore Campground was instant relief for our whole family. Andrew went above and beyond to make sure we settled in nicely and the staff have been very accommodating. We are very excited to start our 2024 Seasonal Season with Down the Shore!

Wanted to drop a review on this wonderful place. We have gone to other campgrounds in the area and few offer such updated amenities, wonderful community, and good communication with staff. You can tell ownership has been extremely thoughtful in creating a family friendly environment with great care to the grounds. We got to enjoy an outdoor movie and the arts and crafts programs for our kids. We truly had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back next year.
