Drakes Island Resort

We recently stayed in a two bedroom cabin with my sisters family in the cabin next door. We had and absolutely wonderful time and can't wait to return!!!! We have 2 kids and 2 golden retrievers and felt right at home. The pool and fire pit area was perfect along with the dog park area. The staff was so friendly and very responsive to any questions. The seasonal guests and other guests were also very friendly which just made it an overall really great experience.

This is the second time staying here and we are very pleased, the cottages are very clean and comfortable, the staff is very welcoming. They have added a fenced dog park, which is wonderful. We will be back.

Wonderful community! We stayed in one of the rooms for a night to explore the area. Tidy and clean and well taken care off. Dogs and kids friendly. Friendly service. Recommended!

So we had a wedding to attend ..me and my partner searched found this spot so we reserved it..when we reach at the destination he was told they have no availability even though it stated they had..the receptionist was rude on her phone the whole time bearly acknowledging my partner..the point of telling us there's no rooms there when there is 1 posted ?

What a remarkable find! Perfect cottage in a perfect area with impeccable staff. We met numerous travelers from all walks of life who were simply delightful. **Please note this resort allows smoking on the screened-in porches which I confirmed with a quick telephone call. I understand non-smokers do not like to be around cigarette smoke. I get it. Therefore, I always do my due diligence regarding smoking regulations before visiting a property. However, it would behoove others to do the same. Mid-week a couple checked into the cottage beside of us who are non-smokers. The woman was visibly upset that we were allowed to smoke on our porch. Folks, as with any reservation, do your homework, make some telephone calls, and then extend a bit of grace (to yourself and others) before throwing what my grandmother would call a “hissy fit” based on your own oversight and/or faulty judgement - and for God’s sake don’t chastise or penalize a business if you don’t agree with their practices. Simply take your business elsewhere. In this day and age we can do better. Again, wonderful property and staff…see you soon!
