Customer Reviews
Dreher Island State Park is a fantastic spot for camping, especially if you’re traveling with a trailer. The park is well-designed, making it easy to get in and out with a travel trailer, which is a big plus for anyone towing. The campsites offer great views, particularly those near the water, providing a serene and picturesque environment perfect for relaxation. However, some of the sites are a tad uneven, so be prepared to spend a little extra time leveling your trailer. Overall, the park provides a peaceful camping experience with beautiful scenery, plenty of outdoor activities, and well-maintained facilities. It’s a great destination for nature lovers and families looking for a getaway!
This was our first time camping at Dreher Island State Park and we will definitely go back. The sites were great with the majority of them on the water or having water views. The sites were neat and clean. The bathroom at Islander loop was clean, but could use some updates and the exterior was covered in spider webs and moss. Maybe this is just the norm, I don't know, since we recently moved to SC. This is a great park and really enjoyed our time there.
Always enjoy our time at Dreher Island! The rangers are attentive, kind, likeable, and knowledgeable! They go out of their way every time to answer questions or help in whatever way they can. The park itself is beautiful, and well maintained! Such a peaceful place to visit!
Vacationed here, and I love this place. It's peaceful and the lake has plenty of good fishing spots. The boaters are loud and inconsiderate, but overall the lake is a great place to visit. I stayed in one of the villas with my wife, and we had a great time. 5/5 would visit again.
As far as State Parks go, Dreher Island is a great place to camp. If you have a boat and like to fish, you may even give it another star. While paved, some of the sights are very uneven and have root damage. There was a lot of tree damage from hurricane Helene, but that had little impact on a camp. Anglers circle ( the first loop) is not the same as it used to be, so I recommend going to the second loop. Clean vintage bathrooms and great water sights await you at this park.
