We come every year. The showers are kept clean as are the restrooms. The hosts are typically laid back as long as you're not making trouble. Dune access is close, with a short drive to the beach. You can hike as well, its about half a mile walk, and the hill is one to remember. A trip we look forward to every year! 2023 update- we had our first bad experience with someone stealing our gas cans on the first night. Lock your stuff up, I'm sorry to say it. But better safe than sorry. We'll be back again next season, but maybe the next folks won't. 2024 update- we locked our gear up, no trouble this year except for the massive family sand camped right off the entrance road. Can't win them all, but maybe next year they will gather further away. (We can hope) Showers weren't kept as clean this time around, we always pack shower shoes, just in case. The showers were free this season. See you in 2025!
We ended up getting here late so we set up in the dark at 1 in the morning. The campsites are a bit close to each other but the parking is spacious and there’s nice spaces for tents. Trucks and dune buggy’s started running at about 8am so it’s a bit noisy, but that should be expected. The bathrooms are good quality and there are showers. The camp host was very friendly and nice! He even gave us some free laundry tokens!
Great for camping, the spaces are big, the showers are hot, the bathrooms are clean. The staff left us alone and we had a great time riding the dunes.
We tent camp and were not aware that this campground is more designed for campers and RVs. The ground is sand, so staking our tent down was very frustrating. The saving grace was the camp hosts who had a couple extra long stakes. We definitely won't be camping here, again.
No hookups (you’re basically in a parking lot with trailer-sized slots) but very reasonable on the pricing and great place to drive on the dunes. There are restrooms that were open while we were there but the showers were closed as of 11/11/20.
Great campground close to the beach! We always have an amazing time here. Camp hosts are the best!
We purchased wood from a vendor in Florence and as I was offloading it the "camp host" mentioned how he's "had to call the cops because the flames were six inches over the fire pit". He didn't even introduce himself before he walked into our site. I didn't even have a fire burning.
