Customer Reviews
Very spacious camping areas, beautiful wildlife and scenery all around, great auto trailhead located right next to campground. Bathroom on site, showers are about a mile down the main road @ gate 3. When checking in with host they will tell you everything to know about the sites. Very friendly and good vibes .
I got a camping permit for 2 nights but ended up only staying 1. The campground itself is amazing, I’m so thankful that the permits are free. I won’t comment on trivial things such as the cleanliness of the showers at Gate 3 or the compost toilet in the family campground because again, it’s FREE! However the only thing I didn’t enjoy was the proximity of the grounds to what seemed like an airport? (could’ve been the highway too) I heard the loud roars of engines late into the night which completely took the serenity away from the setting. If you’re looking for a real connection to nature, I would hike to one of the primitive campgrounds at the end of the trails. Not sure if it would help with airplanes, but it would definitely take care of the trucks
Great, free campground, 7 day limit, only 3 sites taken during this week in July while I was there. No RVs, tent only. Cars ok. Lots of great walking trails, also a drive thru trail (lots of potholes). Bring your binoculars/camera, lots of birds, deer and other wildlife. Closest stores are in Indiantown 7 miles away. Picnic table and grill on each campsite. Bathrooms available, showers at the equestrian center. Overall, nice place, though rated 4 because it could use some trash pickup around the park, but not too bad.
Excellent camping place for free with a permit. Weve been twice so far and plan to go again soon. There are three sections one for tents and pop ups one for Rvs and one for Rvs with horses. We picked the tent camping one. Truly peaceful. No electric but water and hot showers in campsite for horses which we used. Camp host is very cool and makes you feel welcome.
We like this little park and the trails it has to offer. Just be aware that you need to register and get a SUL to camp here.
FREE stay, register at the SFWMD site and request a permit. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Various trees at the camp sites to provide shade. Two cars, two tents, 6 people max per camp site. The sites surround a pond. I didn't use the toilet so I don't have anything to say about it. I couldn't locate the faucet, however we brought enough water. You need the code for the combination lock to open the gate which is included with the permit. There is a short trail spur maintained by the FTA that connects the family campground to loop 1. Will definitely stay again.
Clean bathrooms, showers, large sites great for dry camping. Best part it’s free!
