You can get to it from land or water. It is about a 2 or 3 mile hike depending on if you go the scenic way or straight and boring way. The site itself has a latrine, 4 tent pads, a fire ring, a beach and plenty of trees to use for hammocks. Nice view of the Bong bridge and part of Duluth.

There is one primitive campsite in the Superior Municipal Forest, here on Dwight's Point, which is accessible by water and may be used on a first come first served basis. Access in summer is by boat or hike. Access in winter is by snowmobiling across the bay or cross country skiing. It's a 2.6 mile ski from the Superior Disc Golf Course parking lot (fka the archery range parking lot) to the campsite taking the most direct route (X to W to GG to FF to EE to HH on the map). In the summer when the Billings Drive is open you could park at W which would make the hike a bit shorter but it's very swampy, and technically you are supposed to use the Summer Use Trail. This campsite has a fire ring, benches, chairs, tables, beach access, a clothesline and an unenclosed out-house, which can be located about 50 yards south of the campsite on the east side of the trail. Very serene place with beautiful views. As with any campsite, be respectful of the property/amenities and be sure to pack out what you pack in!
