Eagle Lake was as lovely as ever last weekend and very quiet now that most tourists have headed home.
One of the most serene places I've visited. Big campsites with very tall to provide shade. Flush toilet is clean. Shower is about 3minutes away, at the Marina Store. It was $2.50 for 5mins. The Marina Store actually has a lot of stuff to purchase. We ended up buying a roll of paper towel and 2 sweatshirts for the kids. They also have air mattress repair kits. Very bad mobile phone coverage at the campsite; it was excellent at the areas of the lake where we visited. There isn't a whole lot to do near the campsite other than relax, which is exactly what we needed. One 1 hiking trail and one paved bike trail from what we can tell. We ended up driving to Susanville to hike another trail. Of course, there's the lake, which we spent 2-3hr each day. Not much of a defined beach, but you are free to roam around endlessly. Water is clean and clear. Most areas we walked were rocky (because of low water I think), but it was not a big deal. We loved it!
Nice campgrounds. Flush toilets and sinks. Lots of space in each camp spot $20 -$30 per night depending on power hookups
We had a blast here. Great camping, lots to do outdoors, the lake is beautiful!
Fished for 5 days, caught 1 fish and it wasn't even a trout. The lake was full of Alge. Cabin only had 1 bathroom and it was up stairs. Neighbors dogs were barking constantly. Boat ramp was closed so we had to drive like 30 miles away from the cabin just to launch the boat. Everything was expensive. Both Marinas didn't have fruits or vegetables. We won't be back.
We stayed at the Christie campground for memorial weekend. A very beautiful park tons of trees, beautiful water. It was a great trip and only a little over 2 hours from reno.
