Eagle View Campground

Had a great time. Stayed in site 2. Have a good 4 wheel vehicle and if there is rain, the rutted out road gets muddy. Adds to the fun and adventure. There is no vault toilet for site 1 & 2 so come prepared with all the equipment needed to do the right thing and pack out your waste and garbage. Leaving the camp site better than when you arrived is my motto. Bring some heavy duty tarps to block sun and rain when needed and some carabiners which clip on hooks already on the structure over the table. Access to the beach is very close. Enjoy 😁

Honestly, I’m shocked to see some negative reviews here. We have camped a few times at Yuba Lake and Eagle View is our favorite! It flat out says on their website that you have to pack everything in and pack it out. It is pretty close to primitive camping, just with designated fire pits. So that means you need to pack in your water, and pack out your trash. This last trip this weekend, I was very disappointed to see a ton of used toilet paper thrown on the ground by campsite number two. In addition, there was dog poop that wasn’t cleaned up which we did when we arrived as to avoid our dogs from investigating it! Campsites one and two are our favorite, but there is no pit toilet as shown in their map. If you walk along the beach, you can walk to campsite three which has a bathroom, in less than five minutes. If walking isn’t your jam, you are quite able to drive to a bathroom. Each time I’ve gone, I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the pit toilets are and they did have toilet paper though I do bring my own. I think people forget that this is camping, and you should be prepared for situations that arise. Beach access from the sites is easy, this past week the water was a little bit lower, but it was still quite pleasant. There are buoys to show the no wake zone, so you feel quite safe on your floatables or SUPs. Sites 1 & 2 do have the road through them so do not park on said road as early fishers may wake you to move your car. It’s a little weird but fine for the secluded area. Take aways are it’s camping, some sites have more shade than others, bring your own water and trash bags and take all your garbage with you when you leave. Yes, there may be cowpatties but that’s expected in open range areas.

We stayed in eagle view site number 7. No power no water, dry camping only Pros: -you have a great view of the lake -1 vault bathroom close to the campground -you have a table covered with a pavilion and a fire pit place -some sites has walk distance to the water(not all of them) Cons/ -bathrooms out of toilet paper -the campground is full of cow poop. Is just an awful smell -the beach area is only clean at campsite 3 and 4, the beach area close to ours was full of cow poop -there is not dumpster in the campground you have to drive to painted rocks campground. -reserve America website charges 35/day. The sign at the entrance of the campground is 15/day. I have stayed at others state parks and for $35 the restrooms are cleaned, the water is in good condition close to the campground and there’s dumpster in the campground. Notes: -keep always your dogs close to your campground: They are rattlesnakes, coyotes, and bunch of spiders.

Lovely location! Pros: -mostly quiet, there’s some noise during the day from motorized boats, and if people show up to their sites late in the evening/night, it’s very disruptive because it’s so quiet otherwise -vault toilet is well maintained and clean (but bring your own hand sanitizer) -views Cons -very sandy -entire campsite was grassy with a prickly grass that attached to everything, we each got a few splinters and they would stick you through your socks -when we went, the lake was at 18% so the shoreline was very far from our ‘waterside’ site- We drove, but it would have been really tough if we’d boated and had to carry all the gear a couple hundred yards from the water through mud, sand and prickly brush Of note: -fun to watch the little lizards everywhere -tent plots are concrete so it’s difficult to find a place to get your stakes in -not a lot of level parking spaces (we have a rooftop tent so this was a challenge) -it’s about a 15 minute sand/gravel road drive to get to the campground from the closest paved road; you don’t need high clearance but its definitely off-road -it’s about 15 minutes sand/gravel drive to the North/West Beaches where the swimming area is, the water from this campground is not as pretty or clean looking (we didn’t go in here so we can’t speak to it)

Nice place. The water wasn't as close as I thought it would be and to get to it you have to go through very large stickers, we couldn't bring our dogs to the water because there was no way to get around them and it was hurting their paws. That sucked. There are also stickers at the camp site but not as bad.Other than that it's a nice place, huge area to camp in. It fit our whole family. 1 trailer, 1 tent and 4 vehicles. Bathroom was clean, bring hand sanitizer and toilet paper, someone had made a mess with what was in there.

Beautiful spot! Stayed at Eagle View Campground EV01. Wished I had known how rugged it was to get there. Cows, and really, really deep ruts. I would not attempt in the dark or in a car. Google maps sent me down a dirt road, about 2miles south of entrance. The “road” into Eagle View sites 1 & 2 is not marked

It was a great spot near the lake, but the facilities were a bit neglected. The bathroom was clean enough but the camp site itself was a bit funky. Very usable and way better than just parking in the woods
